📋PROCEDURES OF APPLYING FOR TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARD FOR FOREIGNERS
STEP 1️⃣ PREPARING A DOSSIER
Prepare documents in accordance with the law.

STEP 2️⃣ SUBMITTING THE DOSSIER
Submit the dossier at the offices of Vietnam Immigration Department - Ministry Of Public Security
🏘 44-46 Tran Phu, Ba Dinh, Hanoi.
🏘 333-335-337 Nguyen Trai Str., District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
🗓Working time: from Monday to Saturday morning (except for New Year's days, public holidays, and Sundays).

Officers receiving the dossier shall check the legality and contents of the dossier:
+ If the dossier is appropriately completed, officers shall receive it, print it, issue an appointment to return the result to the applicant, and request to pay fees to toll collectors. The fee-collecting officer collects the money and hands over the receipt to the applicant for a temporary residence card.
+ If the dossier is not appropriately completed, officers shall guide the applicant to supplement the dossier.

Step 3️⃣ RECEIVING THE RESULT
After 5-7 working days, the person applying for a temporary residence card will directly receive the result at the Vietnam Immigration Department - Ministry Of Public Security.
When coming to receive the results, bring the appointment letter to return the results, identity card, and receipts for payment for comparison. In case a temporary residence card has not been issued, a written reply must be given clearly stating the reason.
🗓Time to return results: from Monday to Friday every week (except Tet and public holidays).

📌WHAT TYPES OF TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARDS ARE THERE❓
Now, there are three common types of temporary residence cards in Vietnam, including temporary residence cards for work, temporary residence cards for investment, and temporary residence cards for relatives’ visits.

🔻TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARDS FOR FOREIGNERS OBTAINING WORK PERMITS (SYMBOL LĐ)
- is for foreigners who have been granted work permits for businesses or representative offices of foreign companies in Vietnam
- is valid for 2 years

🔻TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARD FOR FOREIGN INVESTORS (SYMBOL ĐT)
- is for the owner of a single-member limited liability company in Vietnam or for board members of a joint-stock company or multi-member limited liability company
- has a maximum term of 5 years depending on the capital contribution ratio

🔻TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARD FOR FOREIGNERS’ RELATIVES (SYMBOL TT)
- is granted to relatives of foreigners who have temporary residence cards in Vietnam: spouses and children
- has a maximum term of 3 years (temporary residence card for spouse)
- has a maximum term of 2 years or according to the term of the expert (if the subject is a relative of the foreign expert (spouse and children) who has a temporary residence card in Vietnam)
