Hei hei! A few months ago when I was filming at the new Vikingtidsmuseet , I was invited to the University of Oslo storage facility for Viking artifacts 🤩

I was shown a range of different items, but perhaps the most impressive one was the original serpent head of the Oseberg Viking Ship 🐍

The original head was too fragile to be mounted onto the ship after they excavated it, so a replica was made, and the original was put away in storage.

It’s been there for more than 120 years, and never been on display! So being able to witness it with my own eyes was a true wow moment! 😮

However, a new exhibition recently opened at the Historical Museum in Oslo, including the serpent head, so make sure to pay them a visit Historisk museum

Imagine turning the corner and seeing a medieval Stave Church from afar 🤩

This particular one is the Garmo Stave Church and is standing at the Maihaugen Open Air Folk Museum in Lillehammer 🌳

The earliest parts of this church dates back to the 1200s. Today it’s a parish church, and don’t be surprised if you meet a newlywed couple there on a Saturday 💒
