The Cape Freels Heritage Trust Inc is proud to recognize one of our Board Member's, Winston Perry, for getting formally recognized and presented the Premiers Medal for Heritage, during a ceremony at the Rooms today. This award is a testament to all the work that Winston has dedicated in preserving the Heritage and Culture of the Kittiwake Shore! He has demonstrated his passion for NL History and it's Culture by capturing their stories!

Today, I had the honour of joining Minister Andrea Barbour to present the 2025 Premier’s Medals for Arts, Heritage, Sport and Recreation.

These awards recognize individuals, groups and organizations whose dedication, leadership and service have made a lasting impact in communities across Newfoundland and Labrador. Their contributions reflect the creativity, pride and volunteer spirit that define us as Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

Join Jackie Sullivan and Karla Pilgrim on Sunday, June 7th from 2:30–4:30pm for an intimate, all-ages performance as part of their Fogo Island & Twillingate Tour.

Settle in for an afternoon of great music, with a full restaurant and bar menu available throughout the show 🎶

The Cape Freel's Heritage Trust Inc have selected a successful candidate regarding the Post on Jan 10th, 2026, The Expression Of Interest to Lease, Operate & Manage the Olde Shoppe Restaurant, located in Newtown, NL!
We are excited to announce that the '" Lumsden Beach Company " is that successful company and we look forward to partnering and collaborating with them for the 2026 Season and the future! The Lumsden Beach Company is a well established brand which the CFHT Inc feels is perfectly aligned with our business vision, and we are confident they will compliment our site, maintain the great culinary experience shared in the past, while offering a new and creative vision, still focused on local culture and heritage! Stay tuned for updates from both groups!
The CFHT Inc continues its mission and remains focused on preserving the Heritage of the Barbour Living Heritage Village, and the entire area, which is so deep and rich in history and culture!
