About Serendipity Lodge

It was the 10th September. We weren’t even looking but he sends me a link to a cottage listing. “Let’s go right now!” I said. Just three hours from Toronto but really a world away in the spectacular rolling hills of Hastings Highlands, we discovered the ‘wild side of Algonquin’. And finally at our destination, at the end of a long sweeping driveway, not visible from the road, sat this grand Lodge with solid wood beams and a tall chimney for the wood burning stoves glistening in the sun. Perched proudly atop a beautiful two acre piece of land with an abundance of trees and grass clearings, overlooking the quiet and calm Lake St. Peter. Outside the cottage hung a large wooden plaque bearing the words ‘Serendipity’. We knew right away. Forty-eight hours later Serendipity Lodge became reality.
