🇺🇸 A view of the Conciergerie, the former courthouse and prison where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned, tried, and convicted.

When you visit, be sure to also visit the Sainte Chapelle , the Royal chapel next door,.

These are located on île de la Cité, one of the islands in the Seine.

🇺🇸 I recently mentioned that I’m a wimp when it comes to going out in the rain, but thanks to and , I was encouraged to join them to capture these sunset photos after a good rain.

Paris is actually the perfect city to capture in the rain, or after the rain. Of course I know I’m biased, but Paris is beautiful in any light.

🇫🇷 J'ai récemment mentionné que j'étais une mauvie quand il s'agissait de sortir sous la pluie, mais grâce à et , j'ai été encouragé à les rejoindre pour capturer ces photos de coucher de soleil après une bonne pluie.

Paris est en fait la ville idéale à photographier sous la pluie ou après la pluie. Bien sûr, je sais que je suis partial, mais Paris est belle sous tous les angles.

🇺🇸 One of my favorite things about living in Paris is access to boulangeries in just about every corner. To be honest, I’ve never been much of a bread lover. But it’s impossible to pass by a boulangerie with the aromas of freshly baked baguettes and croissants wafting out and not be tempted. Plus there’s the amazing French butter on my kitchen counter, waiting for a freshly baked, warm baguette.

🇫🇷 L’une des choses que je préfère dans la vie à Paris est l’accès aux boulangeries à presque tous les coins de rue. Pour être honnête, je n’ai jamais été un grand amateur de pain. Mais il est impossible de passer devant une boulangerie avec les arômes de baguettes et de croissants fraîchement sortis du four et de ne pas se laisser tenter. De plus, il y a l’incroyable beurre français sur le comptoir de ma cuisine, en attente d’une baguette chaude fraîchement sortie du four.

🇺🇸 Did you know there are about 20 carousels dotted around Paris? I love the vintage ambiance of these carousels. This one is located in the children’s area of the Jardin des Tuileries.

When was the last time you rode a carousel? For me, it was in 2019 in Madrid. 🎠

🇫🇷 Saviez-vous qu'il existe une vingtaine de manèges disséminés dans Paris ? J'adore l'ambiance vintage de ces carrousels. Celui-ci est situé dans l’espace enfants du Jardin des Tuileries.

À quand remonte la dernière fois que vous êtes monté sur un carrousel ? Pour moi, c'était en 2019 à Madrid. 🎠

🇺🇸 Part 2/4 from my visit during

(I almost forgot I had more photos to share.) 🤦🏻‍♀️

This is a centre for artistic training and experimentation, an exhibition and conservation centre for historical and contemporary collections, and a publishing house.

One my favorite spaces is the cour vitrée, the glazed courtyard with a glass roof that you see in these photos. The building is inspired by the Palaces of the Italian Renaissance.

Il s'agit d'un centre de formation et d'expérimentation artistique, d'un centre d'exposition et de conservation de collections historiques et contemporaines et d'une maison d'édition.

L'un de mes espaces préférés est la cour vitrée, la cour vitrée avec une verrière que vous voyez sur ces photos. Le bâtiment s'inspire des palais de la Renaissance italienne.

🇺🇸 “Actually, Paris is the most beautiful in the rain”. (a quote from the movie ‘Midnight in Paris’)

A lot of Paris photographers might agree with you. There are some who are experts at puddle photography. I am admittedly a wimp in the rain. I either stay home or opt for indoor activities.

But believe it or not, my first visit to Paris was for just 2 short days in December 2007 and it rained the entire time. I had wet, cold feet (I only wore my Converse). However it didn’t keep my from exploring the city on foot and of course falling in love with Paris.

So my #1 tip for your time in Paris… Always carry a tote with an umbrella inside…just in case. Oh yeah, please don’t pay too much attention to the forecast either. It’s often wrong.

Beaucoup de photographes parisiens pourraient être d’accord avec vous. Certains sont des experts en photographie de ‘puddles’. Je suis certes une mauviette sous la pluie. Soit je reste à la maison, soit j'opte pour des activités en salle.

Mais croyez-le ou non, ma première visite à Paris n'a duré que deux jours en décembre 2007 et il a plu tout le temps. J'avais les pieds mouillés et froids (je ne portais que mes Converse). Cependant cela ne m’a pas empêché de découvrir la ville à pied et bien sûr de tomber amoureux de Paris.

Alors mon conseil n°1 pour votre séjour à Paris… Ayez toujours un fourre-tout avec un parapluie à l'intérieur… juste au cas où. Oh oui, s’il vous plaît, ne faites pas trop attention aux prévisions non plus. C’est souvent faux.
