You'll follow the Amtrak route, Lake Shore Limited, from NYC to Chicago, overnight in Chicago, then continue on the next day to Los Angeles, following behind on Amtrak on the Southwest Chief. You'll pass through beautiful rolling hills, mountainous terrain, and breathtaking desert views.
