Definitely recommend Hill House Cafe while staying Skye's Rest . The food is fabulous . It is situated in the old Pah homestead. Inside and outside you can enjoy the various sculptures and art displays.

Want to do a more substantial walk from Skye's Rest then the slip track loop walk is a great option. Just on your doorstep. About a 7km walk, will take you past the Arataki Visitor Centre and if going at a steady pace will take about an hour and a half.🥾

From Skye's Rest you can explore all that wider Auckland has to offer. You could visit the Kauri Glen walk (Northcote), walk among the 100-200 year old Kauri trees and then visit Devonport, which has lots of lovely shops and cafés. A recommended place to eat is Mānuka Café & Restaurant .

They have a wonderful selection of books. Always a great vibe, good tunes and you will walk away with far too many books.😊

Being surrounded by native bush at Skye's Rest you can be assured that you will see lots of native bird life. Whether it is the majestic kererū soaring through the sky or a kingfisher diving for food. Today two busy little pīwakawaka followed us along the Beveridge track.🥰

At Skye's Rest you can enjoy the best of both worlds, relax in the tranquility of the native bush setting or take a drive (18km) to the city centre, and enjoy the many things on offer. If you want to enjoy a magnificent meal that show cases the beautiful variety of produce Aotearoa has on offer, then look no further and enjoy either lunch or dinner at Ahi . We highly recommend it.🥰
