Can’t wait!
✨EXCITING NEWS✨ The Fine Arts Theatre's cleanup and construction have officially begun! The iconic building's history dates back to 1877, as a local opera house, and in 1935, it opened as a part of a chain of "Texas" theaters. Eventually, the building undertook a new identity as the "Fine Arts" theater in 1957, up until a fire forced the theatre to close its doors in 1982. By the spring of 2026, it will reclaim its place as a cultural center in our community.
In April 2024, the Denton City Council approved an incentive agreement with Fine Arts Theatre LLC, a group led by local developers Alex Payne and Brad Andrus, to restore the theatre. We're so excited to be a part of the theater’s next era, and for the historic building to become a vibrant community hub in our beloved downtown square once again.
