Day 92: Have lunch in a historic building with a lovely restaurant and a Bed and Breakfast!! It’s located right on the water with an excellent ocean view in Port Union! The food was awesome and the service was excellent!! The Inn has alot of charm! Very comfy and cozy with a hint of history meets modern!! Check out The Harbourside Inn & Café while on your adventures this year!!

Day 91: Let's get this history lesson started in Port Union on the Bonavista peninsula!!

There's a ton of old-school cool stuff there!! Port Union National Historic District of Canada is basically the only town built by a union, with a social justice history that's all about William Coaker and the Fisherman's Protective Union being the ultimate superheroes for fishermen. They changed merchant relationships and set up shop, creating a commercial and economic powerhouse. Port Union is like the hipster of towns, with its intentional community vibes and a streetscape that's totally on point in the middle of nowhere. You can take a tour or just paruse around the gift shop and area by yourself. It’s cool!!

Day 90: Sea kayaking in Port Union Newfoundland!! This historic town is the perfect spot to launch your kayak. It’s famous for fossils and the historic district is super cool as it was the first fishermans union town started by William Coaker in 1916! We took a tour with Lodge Tours! We totally recommend using a professional guide as they watch the weather and they would not take you out in conditions that were not perfect! Sea kayaking is an amazing way to see the coastline in a different light! It’s gorgeous! We walked a bit on a nearby trail and it was stunning!! There is so much to see here in this province! It’s actually mind blowing!!

Day 89: Live like a lighthouse legend!! Roys Lighthouse Retreat in Catalina is def one of the cutest spots we ever crashed !! Right on the edge of the ocean like it was meant to be! So many little cool touches. Def one of my favs!! Located in Catalina on the Bonavista peninsula this one is the perfect home base explore station for sure !

Day 88: Port Rexton Brewing is super cool with a hipster vintage vibe that I love!! It’s just super fly!! The beer is good too!! lol. They have Oh My Cheeses fancy grilled cheese sandwich on site to for when you gets the munchies!! So awesome!!

Day 86: we visited the small town of Catalina and stayed at the Lodge's Loft!! It was the perfect spot to stay!! Right on the water with tons of room for the whole family jam! It’s the perfect spot on the Bonavista peninsula to use as a homebase while exploring the whole peninsula!! That old fashioned cast iron tub is a show stopper!! Love love love!! Check them out!!

Day 85: Visit the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse!! That’s all I really need to say!! This whole area is lovely. You can just walk around for an afternoon and it’s simply stunning. The last time we were there we just walked around and watched the whales !! It was amazing!!

Day 84: Coles Gulch was an important fishing area on the North side of Elliston on the Bonavista Peninsula!! There is a reconstruction of a traditional fish flake that was once used by fishermen!! It’s a super cool little hidden gem area that worth the little trek to explore a bit!!

Day 83: You gotta go gawk at the PUFFINS!! They're ridiculously cute… I'm kinda tempted to sneak one into my pocket…is that totally crazy?? lol…. We hit up Elliston and Puffin Island! Just drive to the end of the community and you'll spot the signs… and the paparazzi… lol… it's a totally trippy trip and no promises you'll actually spot these adorable birds but it's def worth the drive. Put this one on your great big bucket list too peeps!!

Day 82: Take a selfie with a root cellar!! Theses little hobbit houses are fascinating!! Steeped in history these were used back in the old days as storage units!! Newfoundlanders would store their vegetables over the winter and in the summer to keep them cool!! Elliston is the Root Cellar Capital of the world… THE WORKS PEOPLE!! That’s amazing. They are fun and whimsical!! I loved looking for them… we found a few more gems too!!

Day 81: Nanny's Root Cellar Kitchen in Elliston is the bomb dot com!! It's an old historical building turned into a fantastic restaurant run by the local grannies, I think...lol... that's why the grub is so deadly( by that i mean great if course) and the dishes are super traditional, just like at Granny's house!! It's the coziest spot ever! It used to be The Orange Hall, a community organization!! It’s so cute in there with all the nostalgia from the hall!! Put her on your Bonavista peninsula stop Staycationers!!

Day 80: Fork Restaurant is a def hidden gem!! This spot is located on the southern shore in Mobile and is lovely. It’s a small restaurant with a tasty menu! They forage ingredients from their own garden, host a variety of brunches, the decor is simple and sweet just like their desserts!! Day 79: Visit the Ferryland Lighthouse!! Built in 1870 this lighthouse is about a 25 min walk in from the Colony of the Avalon in Ferryland on the southern shore. The view is stunning as suspected! During the summer months they do have the picnics, which are great!! You better book in advance tho because they book up fast. However you can always bring your own snack and sit and enjoy the view !!

Day 78: Who would not enjoy Tetley Tea by the Sea??? I challenge you!! This was a cute spot! Reminded me of Nans Kitchen with the best chowder!! This one is located in Ferryland not far from the Lighthouse! A must see for sure!!

Day 45: You never know what fabulous finds are at Signal Hill in St Johns! Most days you can find the Newfoundland dog and his owner, he just sits there for photo ops! Some days there are whales and icebergs! There is always a stunning view! Nighttime drives are the best because you get the view of the city lights! One random day I went I was extremely lucky yo come across this lovely couple just planking her down up there!! It was AWESOME!! #signalhill #365daychallenge #staycation

What a beautiful experience! I think it would be super cool to see NL artists featured in an immersive gallery like this. Can you imagine our scenery coming to life on a digital screen. Imagine all the photos that could be used or the work of Adam Young. How spectacular would it be!! AMAZING!!

A roadie down the Bacalieu Coastline was amazing!! First stop the Victoria Heritage / Tourism society in Victoria BC… Behind Carbonear!! Worth the stop as the community has taken great pride in reconstructing and replicating some historic buildings of days gone by. They have preserved and created interesting displays for locals and tourists!! They should be proud of what they have accomplished!! The staff were super friendly too!! Great job everyone and here are a few pictures of our visit there!! It’s located on the Avalon peninsula and a little over 1 hour from St Johns!! There is a museum, a general store, church, War memorial, town hall, train station, barn, Post Office, Barber Shop, a School House and so much more!! So awesome!!
