🚫 Barcelona Bans Pub Crawls Citywide
From now on, you won’t be able to join an organised pub crawl anywhere in Barcelona — at any time of day or night.

The city has introduced a full ban on promoting, organising, or running pub crawls to public venues. The new decree also prohibits advertising these activities in any form, extending restrictions that previously applied only to certain central districts and mainly during evening hours.

Why the change?

City officials say the move aims to:
• Ensure peaceful coexistence between residents and visitors
• Protect locals’ right to rest
• Improve public health and safety
• Enhance Barcelona’s image for tourists and investors

The ban will remain in place for at least four years and is currently open to public consultation until 4 September. Authorities believe it will help reduce noise, litter, and alcohol-related offences, including drunk driving.

🛂 Heads-Up, Travelers: The EU is Introducing a New Border Control System

Starting October 12, 2025, the European Union will begin rolling out the Entry/Exit System (EES) — a new digital system to register non-EU nationals entering or leaving the EU for short stays.

Here’s what you need to know:

🔹 Who it affects:
Citizens of third countries (non-EU) entering any of the 29 participating European states, including all Schengen Area members.

🔹 What’s changing:
Say goodbye to passport stamps. With EES, your biometric data (fingerprints + facial image) and travel details will be securely recorded digitally at the border, starting from your first visit.

🔹 Why it matters:
EES is designed to:

- Speed up border checks
- Improve security and detect document fraud
- Help monitor visa compliance
- Prepare for the upcoming ETIAS travel authorization system

🔹 Privacy note:
The system is built to meet strict data and privacy standards, so your personal information remains safe and protected.

✈️ Bottom line: Travel will become more automated, more secure, and eventually smoother — but be prepared for initial registration at the border during your first trip under the new system.
