Locals know that if you snorkel just off the eastern end of the beach, near the public reef access point, you’ll find a hidden underwater trail of artificial reef modules teeming with sea turtles, rays, and tropical fish—no boat needed. 🚨 Exciting News: Navarre Beach's First Sea Turtle Nest Has Been Confirmed! 🐢

The tracks suggest a loggerhead sea turtle built this nest. We eagerly anticipate more sea turtles arriving on Navarre Beach. The nesting season runs from May 1st to October 31st. You can help protect these amazing creatures by following these important steps:
· Pick Up Trash
· Leave It Flat – fill in holes and knock down sandcastles to prevent obstacles for nesting females.
· Lights Out – avoid using flashlights or bright white lights on the beach at night. Use curtains or shades to shield interior lighting from the beach.
· Leave No Trace – remove all recreational items (tents, canopies, floats, chairs, toys, etc.) from the beach each night.
· Do Not Disturb – if you’re lucky enough to see a nesting sea turtle, keep at least 50 feet away, stay out of her line of sight, remain quiet, and do not use flash photography. Once she leaves, stay out of the nesting area. Remember, these are protected species—disturbing, touching, or harassing a nest, hatchling, or turtle is illegal.
· Report Disturbances – if you see someone disturbing a nest or turtle, contact local law enforcement immediately. Touching or disturbing a sea turtle, hatchling, or nest is a third-degree felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison, a $5,000 fine, and an additional $100 fine per egg.
