From Spoon-Licker sneaking into kitchens 🍴 to Door-Slammer causing a ruckus 🚪, each has their own unique prank—but they also bring gifts (or a potato!) to children who leave their shoes by the window. 🥔

The Apple Crater aka Raudaskal Crater which lies at the foot of Volcano Hekla. It will take something spectacular to beat this ride up to the top of the crater. The tracks are narrow and steep but the views are out of this world. Caution: Hekla can erupt with very little notice so make sure you do your research before visiting here. Spectacular to total disappointment!! People have mixed feelings about the Golden Circle. Some refuse to tread the much trodden “tourist traps”. I, on the other hand, have lost count of the number of times I’ve been to these spectacular wonders of nature. Yes, those spots can be busy but Iceland generally is becoming busier and more accessible with cheaper flights and increasing availability of accommodation. But, you never know what Mother Nature is going to do next. Just check out the Geysir. Aside from not knowing how explosive it’s going to be each time, others reactions adds to the experience. Personally, I think everyone should do the Golden Circle at least once. Green moss on the black lava is a sight like no other. Still remember the first time we stumbled on to this field. Had to pull up to the side of the road to process what we were seeing. Very hard to describe that feeling of being in another world and seeing something your eyes and brain can’t make sense of.
