Our Story: In 1988 when my daddy, LtCol Tom Hall, retired after a 22-year career as a Marine infantry officer, my parents moved us to Wi******er (just down the road) on Tims Ford Lake. They were looking for a place to settle, enjoy good weather and nice people. Wi******er has that kind of magic only a small southern town has; a place where rope swings and lightening bugs capture the feeling of childhood no matter how old you are. People look you in the eyes and say hello, deals are sealed in handshakes, and neighbors look out for each other.
In July 2021, we bought this property at auction in order to be closer to my parents and help out more. We’ve heard all kinds of stories…. it was built as a corporate retreat, a rehab facility and my favorite, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert were making it a country music retreat, had the wall painted, then broke up and the deal fell through. Either way, the property sat idle for many years, never having been lived in. While the layout is untraditional, it works well as a vacation rental, giving everyone space to spread out. The house was built as a commercial build, so it has solid construction, beautiful cabinets and trim and the floors are milled from wood on the property.
It is named after my maiden name “Hall” and our love of the water. We’ve tried to maximize areas like the large closets by converting them into a yoga room, a nursery, or a bunk room/office for little kids who want to be close to parents or for those who need to get a little work done while out of the office. Many of the touches are hand made, hand painted or hand me downs. The kitchen is fully equipped from waffle makers to baking a birthday cake. We want you to have fun in a comfortable space that helps you relax and enjoy each other, for you to make memories on our lake that will last a lifetime in a way that Wi******er has touched our hearts too. Cherish each other and the time you have together..
Just weeks after we closed, Daddy passed away after complications from a 35-year illness from Parkinson’s Disease. It has been devastating, but we are making the best of a hard situation and continue to improvise, adapt and overcome. The whole undertaking has been a family effort, from my mom knitting baby blankets for the nursery to my sister, her husband and kids, cleaning, decorating and updating the bathrooms. We happily run it together as a family business and sincerely hope you enjoy making lasting memories here!
