When guests don’t leave the key in the lock box and we are all out of spares!! Good job they left the Velux open 😂 Turns out after this heroic Mission Impossible reenactment by Henry, they’d left the key in our letterbox! 😂

Here at The Old Dairy we try to do our bit to be as sustainable as possible. The latest addition to our sustainable range of products and consumables for guests are pods from Wonky Coffee.

Their mission statement says “We are a tiny company with a big mission to reduce all unnecessary waste in the coffee industry. We believe exceptional speciality coffee can be enjoyed without costing the earth, and no surplus should ever end up as waste. We are challenging the stigma around speciality coffee in a bid to provide a truly sustainable brew with exceptional taste.”

We had some new ladies join us today. A copper Maran who is going through a moult so looking a bit tatty. She’s the one with the floppy comb. Then a sweet little lavender pekin bantam and another Araucana who lays blue eggs.

Alan and Brenda our ducks, escaped from their temporary home into our pond! They’re not really allowed in the pond as we have wild mallards and moorhens in there and Alan chases them, but look how happy they are living their best ducky lives! Duck eggs are sometimes available to buy from us if you’re staying at The Old Dairy. Also hens eggs and some garden produce, depending on what is available.
