Long Valley Yurts - Holidays with a breath of fresh air

Inspired by a passion for the outdoors and outdoor living we set out to change the way people camp and in 2008 set up Long Valley Yurts. With just two 18ft Yurts our first site was at the beautiful National Trust campsite at Great Langdale. Not only is it a truly stunning and wild location but it also conveniently provided us with a name fo

r our endeavour with ‘Great Langdale’ being the Norse for Long Valley. So armed with two 18ft Yurts, a name and not much else we set out on our own journey of discovery………and what a fantastic journey it has been so far. Move forward twelve years and we are now one of the longest established glamping providers in the country! We work with fantastic partners in beautiful locations who help us to provide a memorable holiday away from it all. While all of our sites are off the beaten track they are still close to all the Lake District or Peak District has to offer. We now have sites close to Windermere, Coniston, Ullswater and Keswick in the Lake District and Bakewell in the Peak District. Some of our sites also now have glorious Scandinavian wood fire hot tubs and with more exciting additions planned for the future there is a lot to look forward to. Having helped pioneer this type of holiday experience we have now been joined by hundreds of other companies offering all manner of weird and wonderful types of accommodation. It has also led to the birth of a new word for the English dictionary with ‘Glamping’ being the byword for those seeking a ‘Glamorous Camping’ holiday. We are still passionate about the outdoors and outdoor living. We continue to camp and revel in all it’s glorious forms and remain convinced of it’s power to bring people closer, build lasting memories and to enjoy and appreciate the simple things in life. Sometimes life throws you a curveball, it's how you react the counts. Last week we found out due to some issues with the building our new taproom is housed in, that it would have to close for up 8 to weeks! Not ones to stand on our laurels & with the very thought of the campsite runnning dry sending chills down our spines we created this. We hope you like our new tap bar as much as we do.
