Still here! Is there a solution for the museification of a city? One of my teachers of Italian for these two weeks in Florence had us discussing the present situation of the city and where it’s heading. The future doesn’t seem bright but apparently there’s no magical solution. I’m for heavier regulations, even though I understand it’s controversial. Local businesses and inhabitants are disappearing, Florence is becoming the city of panini and gelato. Of course, there will always be Ponte Vecchio, but is it enough?
