Today (21st October) in 1805, Admiral Lord Nelson was victorious at the Battle of Trafalgar.
His flagship was HMS Victory, a 1st rate ship with 104 cannons.
There were 27 British ships against 33 French and Spanish ships. Nelson was a bit of a rebel and used unconventional battle tactics, which proved to be very successful.
He was victorious at Trafalgar, but paid the ultimate price. He lived just long enough to be told by Captain Hardy that they had won the battle.

The town was founded by Saxon missionaries in the 7th century AD.
There was a miracle that happened when the priory was being built that changed both the name of the priory and town from Twynham to Christchurch.
Join me on a tour, and discover the beauty and legends of Christchurch.
