The deepest point in Loch Ness is 126 Fathoms which is twice the average depth of the North Sea! This is where you will find the Loch Ness Monster chilling on most days 😎

A few facts about the Highlands including the largest waterfall in the UK that’s 4 times higher than Niagra Falls 😮

1. Vast Wilderness: The Highlands cover nearly 10,000 square miles, accounting for about 40% of Scotland’s land area.
2. Majestic Peaks: Home to Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain, standing at 1,345 meters (4,413 feet).
3. Ancient Forests: Features remnants of the Caledonian Forest, the UK’s only taiga biome, primarily composed of Scots pine.
4. Geological Marvel: Glen Roy boasts the “Parallel Roads,” natural terraces formed by ancient glacial lakes.
5. Oldest Rocks: The North West Highlands Geopark showcases some of Europe’s oldest rocks, estimated to be around 3 billion years old.
6. Towering Waterfalls: Eas a’ Chual Aluinn, at 658 feet (200 meters), is Britain’s tallest waterfall, over three times the height of Niagara Falls.
7. Deepest Lochs: Loch Ness holds more freshwater than all the lakes in England and Wales combined and is famed for the legendary Loch Ness Monster.
8. Mythical Legends: The Cailleach, a divine hag in Highland folklore, is believed to have shaped the landscape and controlled the seasons.
9. Remote Hospitality: The Old Forge in Inverie is recognized as the most remote pub on mainland Britain, accessible only by an 18-mile hike or boat.
10. UNESCO Recognition: The Flow Country, spanning Caithness and Sutherland, is the largest expanse of blanket bog in Europe and was recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage site for its ecological significance.
