Congratulations to the The Peabody Memphis on its 157th anniversary. Looks like they had a great time. We love the Peabody Hotel and when we visit Memphis we always go there. It is a great place to watch the Duck March with the Duck Master, Kenon Walker, up and down to the fountain. The hotel is historic and grand and originally used to be in Main and Monroe in 1869 and then moved to Union Avenue in 1925.

Very sad to hear that Dolly Parton has passed. She was a country music legend who continued performing for her whole life and always had a smile and an endearing personality🎸🎶

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we say goodbye to a true country music icon, Opry member Dolly Parton.

There is no doubt Dolly’s mark on the world, and on us here at the Grand Ole Opry, will be deeply felt for generations to come. She taught us to always lead with kindness, generosity, and compassion. May her legacy live on through her songs, the lives she touched, and the countless artists she inspired. There will never, ever be another one like her.

We will always love you, Dolly. 🤍

The fans walk up to the Meditation Garden carrying a candle and remembering Elvis.

Today we remember Gladys Presley who passed 68 years ago. Elvis sent flowers to her grave each week and Graceland continues rememberance by placing flowers in her room on this day each year ❤

Without Mrs Gladys we would not have Elvis..

Gladys Love Smith on April 25, 1912, in Pontotoc County, Mississippi - about 15 miles outside of Tupelo. She was one of nine children, and she loved to play basketball, dance and listen to music.

As a young girl, she worked on farms to help her family make ends meet. She later began working at a garment factory as a sewing machine operator.

It was in East Tupelo that she met her future husband, Vernon, at church. They quickly fell in love, and their courtship was brief - so they eloped. Vernon was just 17. Gladys was 21. On their marriage license, Vernon claimed he was 22, and Gladys said she was 19.

The couple were married on June 17, 1933, by a circuit clerk.

Elvis’s love for his mother is world known as she was his anchor and his biggest supporter, after her passing Elvis never was the same..many of his friends and family said that for the rest of his life, but he always left flowers at her grave til the day he passed himself..
