People sometimes ask us, “How do you pick the places you go on these adventures? And then, “How do you know how to set everything up with the right people?”
Well. Jamie typically draws out the entrails of an owl while Russ dances under a new moon chanting into freshly cut lilacs. And then, a brand new GlobeKick Adventure pops out of a crystal and onto our website.
But, in the absence of that … it takes a lot leaning on our own travel instincts, old fashion hard work, purposeful scouting, connecting with locals, and follow-through both from near and afar.
GlobeKick Adventures take you to places better visited together. We travel to the kinda of spots on the planet and bring to life adventurous activities that are better shared with like-minded explorers. Because Rome, for example, is cool and beautiful, but we’d rather weave our own ways traveling through the Eternal City. But, camel trekking in the Moroccan Sahara, let’s get ourselves together for that one!!! We also place an absolute primacy on working with local organizations that are making an impact in pursuit of conservation efforts of the natural world and the culture of indigenous peoples.
This past adventure, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have worked together with Tromso Villmarkssenter to bring the adventure of our dreams to life.
This female-owned, family business was setup as a home for dogs in 1988 by Tove Sørensen. Not only is she a highly accomplished dog sled racer, but truly passionate about treating her 304 beautiful with kindness and world-class care. Over the years Tove with her son Torkil, has grown Villmarkssenter into one of the biggest adventure providers in Norway. But, they’ve done it the right way. The organization not only remains absolutely committed to taking care of “happy dogs,” but is also beginning to lead the way from the front-lines on Arctic climate change conversations.
We encourage you to follow Tromsø Villmarkssenter - Tromso Wilderness Centre for insight into the soul of this great outfit. Also be sure to hit us up in the comments if we can help with any info or guidance on our upcoming times in Norway with our “dogs.” Get it?!
