Storybook Theatre Bringing classic children's tales to life in after-school theatre productions in the Idaho Falls are

Storybook Theatre’s business model evolved out of a desire to provide youth a collaborative theatre experience where key aspects of a production are experienced and guided by young artists. The after-school program takes place over eight weeks at local elementary schools and community centers — bringing the arts directly to the students. Program Features

-Eight-week Rehearsals: By rehearsing 1.5

hours once a week for 8 weeks, students are able to collaborate with their peers and build confidence as they prepare a 30-minute production based on a classic children’s tale.

-Guided by Young Artists: There is so much more to theatre than just acting. With Storybook Theatre, young artists explore many aspects of producing a play from acting to direction, and from sound design to publicity. Key Production Areas - Direction & Acting, Publicity, Set Design, Sound & Light Design, and Prop & Costume Design.

-Production-based Learning: The best way for children to learn about theatre, is by actually doing it. Students work hard to create a production they can be proud of. Performances are on week eight, the evening after rehearsal.

-Professional Experience and Mentorship: High-school students gain professional experience and exposure to business in the arts by working as the assistant director of a production and mentor to participants.
