In The Bell Back Bar this evening we have The Playground open mic sessions.

We have a 2KW PA system, mics, guitars and a piano for your use.

There are also 2 UV air filter units in the room, each of these sanitises 30 cubic metres of air per hour and are certified to kill 99.9% of ALL viruses.

Anything with Jim Blomfield in is worth hearing. Anything with him playing Latin Jazz outclasses all else in the style in the region. No Lie. In cahoots with Cuban-born-and-bred brass maestro Michel, they risk lift-off. You can trust us on this one.

Live music starts at 1pm and today features Sam Brookes & Kit Hawes -
We consider Sam one of our own: playing for us since well before he was legal in the pub! He has a beautiful folk/blues voice and his writing has really matured under the influence of the ‘60s masters. With guitar buddy & virtuoso Kit this will be a state-of-the-art statement of contemporary acoustic classics.

Live music starts at 9pm and features Amadou Diagne and Group Yakar: We really are seeing the world this month, so a perspective from Amadou is important. The living link between Bath & Senegal is now also the focus for a gifted collective with an interest in the development of African sound in a globalised and technologised world, without losing the human dimension.

Still picking up the gigs from tours we lost one way [it usually was one way] or another the past couple of years: it will be a great pleasure to encounter Pete & Frankie again, on their perpetual tour bringing joy wherever (what a nice job!), sending us on a tour of worldwide musical influences as we go.
