Welcome to The Jungle. Today is 22 September 1970 and B Company Red Warriors suffered a casualty on this date (Information posted this morning). Rest in Peace, you will never be forgotten.

Many of us trained for Vietnam in some very hot weather, but when we arrived in Vietnam we were met by even hotter and more humid weather and we didn't just didn't spend a few months training in it, we spent a year in it, carrying maybe 100 pounds of equipment up and down mountains, through rivers and jumping out of helicopters. When that door opened to that Flying Tiger jet or whatever type of plane you came on, you became an instant wet rag. When you initially started hu***ng with all that equipment on your back, you became faint and you sweated all of that excess weight off of your body, but after a few weeks, you became somewhat acclimated to it. Somehow you made it, and you lost maybe 20, 30, 40 or 50 pounds in the process. Cold beer, cold soda and cold water was what you craved, but that was not too handy.
Thanks to all who served in Vietnam.

THE RUNNING THROUGH THE JUNGLE STORY

I am not sure how we became a travel company, but that is okay, I guess you might say we “traveled” through The Jungle. We actually ran, jumped, hu**ed, fell, walked, crawled our way through the mountainous jungle of the Central Highlands of Vietnam during our year long tours in Vietnam. Besides all that movement, we did see snakes, tigers, elephants, The Montagnard People, South Vietnamese troops, and, of course, some unfriendly North Vietnamese troops who did everything they could to make our stay uncomfortable. Come along with us as we try to stay alive in The Jungle. We also did make some detours and ended up in Cambodia, but that is another story. I guess you could say we did “travel” but it was not a pleasurable time as you will hear and see. Thanks for joining us, hope you enjoy your stay.
