Supreme Court rules Maryland parents can pull children from public school lessons that use LGBTQ storybooks. Chicago advocates and educators worry the ruling could negatively impact curricula. The court ruled the schools likely could not require students to participate in lessons involving the books if parents had religious objections.

It’s summertime Chi and one thing that marks the start of summer is the annual Pride Parade, tomorrow starting at 11:00 am! This year’s theme: United in Pride. Take a moment from all the political noise, and bask in what makes us unique, hug those you love, and celebrate the differences in ways that brings us all together rather than drives us further apart!

Stand United. Stand Proud. Stand…Period.

This past Saturday was one for the history books! A crowd of about 250 gathered in Federal Plaza on Saturday afternoon to protest a Supreme Court decision upholding a Tennessee ban on gender-affirming care for minors.

The decision was followed by the federal government’s announcement regarding the shut down of the su***de hotline for LGBTQ+ youth, despite 46% of trans youth having considered su***de in the last year.

Keeping all these young people lifted in prayer during this protest. But more than just thoughts and prayers, we will be actively speaking out, following this progress, and sharing what happens next.

History has taught us that there have been a number of outspoken pioneers who fought for the freedom of marginalized people. We count ourselves among those as we continue the fight against the silencing, oppression, division, and fear sown within our country. Juneteenth is not just a day of celebrating…but a day of action. A day of remembrance. A day of looking back at what was then and is still now, ultimately making the decision — a refusal to continue moving forward in that same way.

We’ll keep sharing content that matters and speaks to the freedoms that everyone deserves and is humanly afforded. Don’t idly sit by, quiet and complacent, as they attempt to strip it all away…because we sure as hell aren’t.

Huge shout out to Adrian and Andrew Nuno ( ) and crew for their loving, beautiful, and visionary work with Anthony L. Williams on their latest short film, Final Frame!

Logline: A film editor finds himself at a crossroads when he has to choose between his career and the love of his life.

Final Frame is complete, and we are so excited for the Nuno Twins to share it with you all!! Stay tuned!
