The UAE now has an official symbol for the Dirham!

Previously denoted by AED or Dh, the UAE's national currency will now be represented by a stylised D with two horizontal lines derived from the English name for Dirham and inspired by the UAE flag.

The digital Dirham will be rolled out by Q4 2025 - bult on blockchain technology and will incorporate financial technologies with the highest level of security to drive innovation and financial inclusion.

This iconic new symbol will enhance the financial and monetary stability of Emirati money across the world.
