Keep your eyes on the sky the nights of August 12 and 13—a meteor shower with over 1,000 meteors will light up the darkness. With a peak rate of up to 150 meteors per hour, this stunning display will offer a visual treat unlike any other. Stargazers and dreamers alike won’t want to miss this.

This shower occurs each year as Earth moves through debris left behind by a passing comet. When these bits hit our atmosphere, they ignite into shooting stars. The speed and sheer number make this one of the most exciting sky events.

To see the show clearly, head out to a spot far from street lights. The best time is after midnight, when the meteors are easiest to spot. No telescope required—just your eyes and a good view of the sky.

It’s a great way to spend the night outdoors with people you enjoy. Take a few photos or just take it all in. The 2027 August meteor shower is something you’ll want to remember.

Check local weather and the moon cycle for ideal conditions. The darker the sky, the brighter the meteors will appear.
