UPDATE: We were able to get Raquel to a local ENT that determined that she had swollen adenoids which was causing the fluid and pain in her ears. That has now been taken care of and she is no longer in pain. We were also able to raise enough funds to send Raquel to Cancun for the tests she needed to determine the extent of her deafness and if she would be eligible for hearing aids. The result of that test is that she need cochlear implant surgery. this surgery needs to take place in Mexico City and costs about $20,000 USD. I have been reaching out to both local and international charities to see if I can get them to sponsor this for her. In the meant time, she needs to have an external hearing aid fitted so that she can begin speech therapy. This will give her some ability to hear. The cost of this is about $700 USD plus travel expenses. Time is of the essence so that she can begin to learn to speak again. Please consider donating to help a little girl in need.

Update on baby Raquel.
She went for X-RAYS yesterday and will see an ENT specialist tomorrow, Saturday to deal with the immediate problem causing her so much pain.
By the grace of God we have found someone who will pay for her hearing aids.
She still needs to pay for the tests required before fitting the hearing aids as well as transportation to Cancun and accommodation while there. If anyone has flyer miles they are willing to use to pay for these it would be life changing for her.
If the doctor tomorrow gives the all clear then she will go to Cancun on the 15th of May and return on the 18th of May.
