iday homes - le chat and le chien - each sleeping 4 guests in a double bed and bunkbeds. There is an option for extra bed spaces as our couches can turn in to double beds too. Each cottage has a small private garden which is secured with a gate and where we placed a BBQ. For entertainment we offer large landscaped gardens with a fish pond, an above ground swimming pool, a play area for children with a trampoline, swings and sandpit, a petanque area, table tennis and mountian bikes. Clan Boucheron sits in a very rural and peaceful setting just outside the village and on the D57. Making the most of the rolling county side all around us we share our space with dogs, cats, chickens and horses, as well as 'the normal' wildlife you find here. We have seen deer, foxes, hen harries, owls, pinemartines, wild boar, cranes and many other species of birds, insects and 'flutterbies'. We grow our own vegetables and herbs and hope to be able to offer the posibility to buy a 'green box' with a selection of biologically grown healthy produce found at Clan Boucheron. And eggs from our own chickens too. Clan Boucheron is located near the Troncaise Forest and the region known for it's wide variety of lovely cheeses offers a lot of scope for outdoor activities and sight seeing. The chain of Vulcano's and Puy de Dome are within a good driving distance for a nice day out.

2 weeks ago I decided to open our gites to shorter bookings in Juli and at the end of August in the hopes of replacing cancelled bookings; It has been a good move. With another confirmation this morning we made up on everything with last minute short stays. It's twice the work, and I have been very busy between the gites and stables, but its all good. And our scores are making me happy too. On Booking we went from an 8.4 rating to 9.1 and on Gites we are still a 9. Here's hoping we can keep this up......

In the past I thought several times that we had to say goodbye to this lovely boy, (at work) but he always bounced back. Until today. His back legs just gave up, several attempts were made to help him, but to no avail. You were a real character Helium. With your hoarse little shout for breakfast. Run free.😘

The story of wee pumpkin. Wee pumpkin was in 1 of 6 eggs under Broody Mary. The 1st wee choock was found dead, we have no idea what happened. Then a little yellow flufball was spotted. The next day a little white fluffer had trouble getting out of its egg, so John helped. Baby nr 2 had hatched. That day Broody Mary lost interest in the remaining eggs. The next day John heard an egg 'tjilping'. Little Grey puff tried to free itself but couldn't do it. Broody Mary was not interested. So John helped it out. I started cuddling it, keeping it warm. It was touch and go. But little pumpkin dried up, picked up. We tried to introduce wee yin to Broody, but she was having none of it. We set up a safe house and warming plate for the wee yin. Long story a little but shorter, we decided to leave 'wh**ey' with mom and yeller was put with pumpkin. That was over a week ago. All 3 are doing well. Mum and 'her' little one, and these 2 are inseparable. Cats and dogs are fascinated. Little pumpkin was very attached to me, but a little less now, with a buddy. Bit sad but also great. Here's hoping for a long and happy life for these Clan Boucheron choocks.....🥰🥰

I love doing things for the gites. Today I bought a chair for Le Chat. I happen to know that this year friends my age are coming over, bringing a mother. I figured that mother, who must be well into her 80's, would like a higher chair, with arm rests, which will be easier to get up from than our couches. And I bought the sun solar lights for the gite gardens. I did this before, but then I got greedy and kept them. 🫠

Tonight I should know if they are in the right spot. 😊

Started the day early, briefly hung out with da cats before I poo picked the field and eyed up the freshly painted pool.(I love it) It's going to be 30°C today so I reckon I might take my first splash of 2025 after work today
