This is where we spent half term week. Turkey in October is fabulous. Especially if you have younger children and you don’t like the heat too hot. An average temperature of 24/25 degrees every day. Along with much quieter towns, shops and restaurants.

We’re already looking at where we’ll head next October half term. If you’d like some ideas on escaping for some winter sun, please give me a shout.

Did you know that Spain was yet again the top destination for UK families to visit last year? Over 17.8 million of us tripped our way over to the med and enjoyed all the amazing destinations that Spain has to offer.

There are so many wonderful hotels on the mainland and the islands, like the stunning Grand Palladium Palace Ibiza Resort & Spa

The family focussed resort is just a short hop from the airport and nestled on the beautiful coastline.

7 restaurants, 7 bars, kids clubs that cater for all ages and beautifully appointed rooms that are perfect for you and your kids.

Not only that - but there are options just for the grown ups (or if your little ones head off to kids club), a beautiful spa, indoor and outdoor relaxation pools, and plenty of treatments to make sure you take advantage of the time to relax.

The hotel has won multiple awards over the last few years and is a firm favourite for many of my customers.

If you’d like to consider the Grand Palladium Palace Ibiza Resort & Spa for your next holiday - give me a shout.

This about sums up our holiday. We’ve got two days left and I’ve fallen in love with Bali more than I ever thought I would.

I’ll do a proper overview post next week, but so far here are our pros and cons of this beautiful island.

Pros:

It’s truly beautiful, and the Balinese care about their island.

The people are lovely. So kind and very caring. And always happy to help.

It’s cheap to eat and shop (caviat -unless you’re eating in a hotel). Average for 3 people, meals and drinks, around £20-£25.

The weather is great. We had about an hour of rain this week which was a welcome relief.

Shopping is fun - if you like bartering and haggling you’ll be in your element.

It’s very chilled and relaxed.

They’re great with kids. Kids clubs are fab. And hiring a nanny for the day is super cheap and they’re lovely.

The food is beyond delicious. I could eat this food every day forever. So fresh and tasty.

The accommodation is great value and just as competitive (if not more so) than Europe.

There is so much to see and do. If you’re like me and just want to relax, then there are plenty of options. However, if you want to see and do you’ll be overwhelmed with options.

Taxis are cheap! We hired a driver who came to us every other day to show us a different town. He’d drive us there (usually 30-60 minutes) wait 3-4 hours whilst we explored and had dinner and drove us back again. All for about £20. And they give you a guided tour if you want on the way.

Cons

It’s a long way. Especially with little ones. However, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Bali belly is real. We’ve got two days left and fingers crossed we’ve not been hit. But people we met have been. And it’s not nice. There are many doctors that you can call out for treatment which usually has you better in 24 hours. Avoid water at all costs. Use bottled water for teeth brushing. And make sure ice is filtered water.

I’ve turned into a bug spray ninja. Dengue fever is here. Meaning you’ll need to make sure you are very protected with a good bug spray for everyone to avoid bites. Again so far we’ve been ok.

If you’re thinking about Bali and want some advice. Feel free to reach out. X

How can I be a family holiday without being an Orlando expert? I’ve been to Orlando countless times, and I must admit, I think it’s my favourite place in the world. The magic still hits you, no matter how old you are, and I truly believe that you can’t say you don’t like it until you’ve experienced it. I’ve met many a bah humbug dad that can think of nothing worse than dragging their kids round multiple theme parks, who come back fully fledged Mickey ear wearing converts.

What the Floridians don’t know about fun, customer service, and imagination, is not worth knowing, which is why it is so important to me to keep my knowledge up to date on everything Orlando. Things change and adapt so quickly over there, with rides and experiences popping up left, right and centre. There is so much to learn about the destination that is top of kids wish list, and I’m excited to say that I passed my Orlando training with flying colours! I can’t wait to share everything that is going on with you and how to get the best out of your trip to Florida.

If you’re considering the trip of a lifetime, please don’t book without talking to me, if only just because I want to hear about how excited you are! I am booking ahead for Disney trips as far as 2027 at the moment - so if you want to start planning for 25/26 or 27 please do give me a shout and we can plan your dream trip together. Until then, it’s a small world people (those who know, know)! Go and enjoy it!
