The New Castle (Nový zámok) in Banská Štiavnica is a prominent historical fortification built in the 16th century. It served as a defensive stronghold against Ottoman invasions. The castle’s unique architectural style features a sturdy, rectangular structure with thick white walls and a distinctive dark, conical roof. Inside, visitors can explore exhibits that detail the region’s mining history, defensive strategies, and local culture.
