What do you observe here? Are you aware of what this is? This is highly unusual to find in a residential setting. Notably, in all our inspections, we have never encountered this. Have you identified it yet? It's an access point to the septic system located within the home. We acknowledge it's unpleasant. This is another reason why it's crucial to have your home inspected when buying, selling, or if you've lived in the home for an extended period or had work done on it. Don't do this... having a crawlspace access with any kind of pipe or obstruction is not a good idea. This obviously blocks access into the crawlspace, which can lead to damage to the pipe or the person entering the crawlspace. Crawlspaces and attics need to have full access for repairs and inspections. A possible repair would be to add an additional crawlspace somewhere else in the building or home, or to reroute the pipe or obstruction.

Spiral stairs. They are great for a confined area to get up and down from one level to the next. They have issues to be aware of also. Each of the steps are are generally pie shaped (Larger at one end and smaller at the other). If someone was not paying attention to every step while using the stairs, this can lead to someone mis-stepping and potentially falling. Definitely using caution when walking on these type of steps is needed. Also many of the spiral stairs have openings in the railing and between the steps that are over 4 inches in size. This can allow for children to fall through or get their heads bought in that space. There are so many different issues with things around all our homes, having a home inspection can give you information involving your home. Can you estimate the approximate square footage of today's inspection, considering it is a commercial warehouse with offices, within a thousand square feet?
