Huge congratulations to Afghanistan veteran and George Medal recipient Paul Jacobs GM on his appointment to Broadstairs and St Peter’s Town Council! 👏🇬🇧
Paul, a Blesma Member, was severely injured in Afghanistan while serving with 2nd Battalion The Rifles. At just 20, he lost his sight and sustained multiple other life-changing injuries in an IED explosion.
His extraordinary bravery during an IED attack earned him the George Medal, presented by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Since leaving the Army, Paul has continued to lead by example—now representing the St Peter’s Ward in Thanet, where he grew up.
