📣 Elk Lake Triathlon 2025 – Will Not Take Place This Year

It’s with incredibly heavy hearts that we share this update: the 2025 Elk Lake Triathlon will not take place this year.

While we were ready to adapt to ongoing water quality concerns, a sudden and massive increase in traffic management costs—$30,000-35,000—due to new District of Central Saanich municipal policy—has made it financially impossible for us to move forward this year.

This isn’t just a race. The Elk Lake Triathlon is one of Canada’s longest-running triathlons, built on passion, community, and joy of sport. Pressing pause this year is heartbreaking—but we’re not giving up.

We’re committed to finding a sustainable path forward so we can continue this legacy in the years to come.

The sun was blazing, the vibes were high, and the finish line energy was unmatched! Our incredible community of athletes, volunteers, spectators, and sponsors showed up in full force to make this hot triathlon weekend one to remember. 💪🌊

From early morning transitions to sun-soaked finish line sprints, every sweaty smile and high five reminded us why we love this sport. THANK YOU to everyone who helped pull off this unforgettable race weekend — you're all absolute legends! 🙌

Sunshine, finish line smiles, and enough endorphins to power a small nation — today's triathlon was an absolute beauty! From first-timers to flying speedsters, you all brought the heat (and maybe a little sunscreen too ☀️).

High-fives, PBs, a couple of epic transitions, and at least one misplaced wetsuit… just the way we like it.

Whether you crushed the course or cheered your lungs out, you made the magic happen. We will see you tomorrow for day 2 of racing in Oliver! Bring the cowbells 🐄🔔💪

Triathlon Race Morning Tips! 🏊🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️
Whether it's your first race or your fiftieth, here are a few things to help your morning go smooth and stress-free:

Lay it out the night before – Pack your gear, nutrition, and race kit so you’re not scrambling before sunrise.

Get there early – Give yourself time for anything unexpected, check-in, parking, and setting up transition without rushing.

Eat what you know – Race morning isn’t the time to try a new breakfast or energy gel.

Pump up those tires – Don’t forget to check your tires in the morning!

Know the course – Review the swim, bike, and run routes so there are no surprises.

Relax and breathe – Nerves are normal. Smile, stretch, and soak it all in. You're ready!

You've trained for this, now it's time to enjoy it. Let’s make it a great day! 💥

Dynamic Race Events is a Canadian, independently owned event production company, focusing on local, crafted, community race experiences.

Started in 2015, our team of industry veterans, volunteers, and event professionals has built upon and continued the success of established triathlons while opening up race opportunities for athletes in new markets.

As a modestly sized business, we're proud to be producing the largest independent triathlon race series in Western Canada and what we've accomplished in our first 5 years.

It's a privilege to continue the rich tradition of triathlon in our host communities and to be able to support so many athletes in accomplishing their goals. Producing races are challenging at the best of times, but being athletes and volunteers ourselves, our team recognizes it's a group effort that makes an event safe and successful year over year.
