🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ Somewhere in the far north-west of Namibia…

After days of dust, desert wind, and endless horizons, we found the ultimate oasis — Orupembe Shop 1. Nothing fancy, no neon lights… just four walls, a door, and the promise of something ICE COLD 🥶.

Sitting here, boots still laced and packs at our feet, we sip our cold drinks and laugh, knowing the Kunene River — and Angola — are still ahead of us 🇳🇦➡️🇦🇴.

This is Kaokoveld magic: miles of wild beauty, a splash of comfort, and a whole lot of adventure. 🌵✨

🌄 Kaokoveld Camino – we’re off! 🥾

Two weeks. 200 km. Almost zero signal.
We’re heading into the wild north of Namibia — walking from the dust of Puros into the heart of the Kaokoveld. No emails. No updates. Just the rhythm of feet on earth, stars above, and a campfire waiting at day’s end 🔥

Fish River Canyon — Day 5️⃣: The Final Stretch

Our last morning on the trail started slow and soft — boots shuffled in the sand, coffee warmed cold fingers, and the light rose gently behind the silhouettes of our little trail family.

We wonder. What is up ? What is down ? And does it really matter ?

There was laughter, silence, and everything in between as we crossed the final water pools, passed wild desert blooms, and found joy in the smallest things — like the painted rock reminding us “Amper Daar!”

The familiar weight of our packs felt different today. Lighter, maybe. Or simply carried with pride.

We followed a path of overlapping footprints — a memory map of shared kilometres — until the trail gave way to Ai-Ais. Tents packed, boots off, backpacks lined up like a quiet salute. The finish line never looked so sweet… or so bittersweet.

This wasn’t just five days of hiking. It was five days of becoming. Of letting go. Of remembering what matters. And somewhere between the canyon walls and starry skies, we found something deeper than distance.

We made it. Together.

Day 4️⃣ – Sunrise Steps, Canyon Burgers, and a Sky Full of Stars

We walked out before the world was awake—into stillness, cool air, and the quiet rhythm of boots on sand. The canyon held its breath with us, pools reflecting cliffs in perfect silence, until the first light cracked over the rim and poured gold into our path.

Today, we climbed. We wandered. We noticed the little things: names written in stones, skulls resting under trees, tiny flowers blooming from dust. These aren’t just miles—we’re walking through layers of time.

Midday, we hit Pink Palace—that legendary outpost where cold drinks are colder than memory, and the burgers are canyon-famous. Feet up, packs down, chips in hand. Heaven.

And just when we thought the day had given us enough—we packed those cold drinks into our packs and hiked a little further, chasing that perfect sundowner spot. Canyon walls glowing amber, drinks in hand, laughter rising with the stars.

And those stars? Infinite. Wild. Wordless.

A day that filled us, start to finish.

Tomorrow? We’ll walk again.

Day 3️⃣ – Fish River Canyon Hike

Past the 20 km mark, bones at our feet… and plenty miles still to go.

Today wasn’t just from 20 to 40 — we walked further than that. Through stone and silence, across dry riverbeds and over rocky ridges. The trail gave us heart-shaped rocks, mountain shortcuts, white desert blooms, and moments to just pause and take it all in.

Lunch by the river. A quick swim for the brave. Boots off, pots bubbling, sun on our backs.

By late afternoon, the pace slowed, feet a little more tender. We reached the “40” boulder with tired legs and full hearts.

Some are patching up serious blisters tonight — but the spirit is strong, the laughter still echoing.

Feet elevated, Compeed applied, socks hung up like little battle flags.

Tomorrow? We’ll walk again 😀🥾🇳🇦
