Hot take- I will travel before I buy anything new or “luxury”. Prioritizing trips over things is easy when you start exploring the world.
You don’t need a $4,000 couch. You don’t need that $80,000 vehicle with $950 car lease payment, you don’t need the newest appliances with every option, you don’t need $160 sneakers, $300 purses and $85 nails but you do NEED to live a fulfilled life, full of adventure and experiences that will carry you through all of your days. My $20 shoes walk me through just fine 😉

So- For peace of mind, and to ensure you know every requirement for your trip, using a travel agent will be your best option. Not only will they have this knowledge, but will research any required or recommended immunizations, suggest travel insurance options, learn areas to provide recommendations for tours, food, exploring and more, check the safety warnings, and deal with all headaches, concerns, details and more.

And when you book with me as your preferred agent, I don’t charge a booking fee . So you will never have an extra cost.

It’s Ttavel Tip Tuesday!

Always make sure you notify your bank and any CC company you have that you may use that you are traveling, especially Internationally.

This will save you from having your card get flagged which could leave you scrambling to contact your bank while at your destination. With time zone differences; this could prove to be an issue.

I just had this conversation with someone who is in their 70s who is starting to feel like they missed out. Their spouse isn’t big on traveling, especially if it means leaving the country, and now they wish they had found a way to travel, with friends or even solo, but they were too afraid to just go!

Don’t live with regret- travel and see the world… Its not just a vacation, it’s an experience in life that will carry you through all of your days learning cultures, seeing stunning landscape, eating diverse foods and breathing new air.

I came across a post that sparked me to remind my travel lovers to ALWAYS pack an extra change of clothes, small toiletries and if it’s a warm destination and you want to swim, a swimsuit in your carry on in the event your luggage is delayed or lost.

And ALWAYS, get travel insurance. You want to be sure you can get reimbursed for things such as this- as well as in destination medical treatment (remember, your medical policy from home won’t cover you- can you pay $1000s for an ER visit for a sprained ankle or food poisoning?)

Using a TA that will help give you peace of mind on all of these things and more.

Definitely a view I’d like!

Passengers flying first class on British Airways’ Boeing 747s have expressed concerns about a redesign that includes windows in some lavatories. One woman traveling to New York voiced her discomfort over the lack of blinds. A stewardess reportedly responded, “Madam, if someone is clinging to the side of this aircraft at 35,000 feet, they’ve earned the view.

Fun fact! Your “travel agent booking fee” is built into the price you pay on 3rd party sites like Expedia and Booking… and it goes to a company without a personal touch- often leaving you with customer service concerns.

When you book with a Travel Agent, that built in commission is paid by the supplier to the Travel Agent.

You will not pay more using a TA, and often will SAVE money (as we find deals you won’t and can also price match majority of the time), and get peace of mind.

So, why are you booking with those sites when you can book for no extra cost with a small business run by a real person? 🤯

***Update being made to Southwests checked bag policy. This has been a huge perk for tbose who fly SW.

Things to know:

Starting May 28 only Southwests Rapid Rewards A-List Preferred members and passengers who book their top-tier Business Select fares will receive two free checked bags. Frequent flyer A-List Members, Southwest-branded credit card holders and other select customers will be allowed one checked bag.

To note: Pricing has not been announced yet and further information is to come.
