This project began with a new sofa, a pair of accent chairs and a bare room. The back wall was painted to bring out the blue in the accent chair fabric while the remainder of the walls received a light taupe. End tables and a coffee table were brought in to provide function to the space. Glass base table lamps add a shiny accent to the room and pick up on the antiqued glass finials of the new drapery rods. A console table was added to provide wine storage and interest to an unused corner of the room. Art work, accent pillows, draperies and accessories finish off the space.

This project required sourcing a significant amount of furniture. We had the brown, leather sofa and the media stand to work with. A new paint color was introduced and allowed the existing draperies to stand out. This family of six needed as much seating as possible which was accommodated by the addition of four new chairs. The coffee table/ottoman doubles as storage and most accessories were child-friendly.

Kitchen, living room, dining room & half bath renovation - 2011

The broadloom carpet was removed to reveal existing hardwood floors which were refinished. The fireplace hearth tiles were replaced with new slate, the plate glass mirror was removed and the existing mantel was replaced with a more substantial version.

In the dining room, the carpet was removed and floors refinished. The wall between the kitchen and dining room was removed to open up the space and add a breakfast bar. A new chandelier was installed over the existing dining table and the same draperies from the living room were repeated to continue the open concept flow.

With the wall removed in the kitchen, base cabinets were installed to create the breakfast bar. New countertops throughout compliment the new mosaic tile backsplash. Pendant lighting over the bar was added along with new over the sink and ceiling light fixtures. The old vinyl flooring was removed and new hardwood was feathered in to match the existing dining room floor. New sink and faucet round out the kitchen renovation.

The vinyl floor in the half bathroom was replaced with slate tiles to match the fireplace hearth. The existing vanity, light fixtures and mirror were replaced to free up space and modernize the small bath.

The kitchen was renovated in 2010 prior to moving in. Cork flooring was installed throughout the kitchen and half bath. All new cabinets, counter tops, recessed lighting and pendant fixtures were installed. The 42" high upper cabinets provide ample storage and the base cabinets feature full-extension drawers.

The lower level renovation took place in the spring of 2012. It features new flooring, recessed lighting and paint. We also streamlined the plumbing and electrical to clean up the ceiling.

The main bathroom was renovated in the spring of 2013. We kept the original white octagon floor tiles and the original cast iron bathtub. All tile, paint and cabinets were replaced for a classic, yet modern aesthetic.

The living room is a work in progress; pieces come and go with the seasons. Some items are due to be recovered. The floors were repaired and refinished in 2010 prior to moving in. Wallpaper was removed and walls repainted. The hearth tile was replaced with 2"x4" Carrera marble tile laid in a brick pattern.

In the living room we replaced the original carpet with bamboo strand flooring and added all new furniture.

The main bath received new fixtures, tile, vanity w/ countertop and paint.

The man cave, formerly a play room received a complete transformation. Floors were leveled to add tile with a heat mat underlayment, recessed can lights were installed, storage space was reorganized and of course new paint and furnishings were added.
