Hurrah, Schools out ! Coming to us over the next 3 weeks ? We would normally advise you to pop along to Logie Steading & Estate anyhow, especially if you love a good coffee and a slice of cake, but they have a summer quest for little people (and not so little) between 28th June and 17th of July, surely worth a visit... https://logie.co.uk/28-june-17th-july-logie-steading-summer-quest/

Update : We try to look after everyone!

A month ago, I posted on here about affordability & value for money, which is obviously at the forefront of peoples minds right now, be it a family or a couple, or just you on your own...you can see the post on our page, or Ive added the photo from it below.

We, of course, try to cater for everyone, and we do recognise that even one of our 2 bedroom lodges could be a little "big" for you, hence why, with guests that book direct, there is a discount for for those who stay for 4 nights or more...something again Ive posted on here.

Usually that discount is out of the main seasons, but, temporarily we've just made it live all the way through... so, stay 4 nights or more (up to 21 nights! ), 1 person = 15% off, 2 people 10% off, 3 people 5% off...

So, based on 7 nights, in a 2 bedroom lodge, in July, if there is just one guest its £569.50, a saving of over £100! (see the photo)

On average, in 2025, Scottish schools will begin their summer holidays on June 28th and end on August 16th..... they vary a little from area to area....In the rest of the UK they are a little later often and go all the way through to early September

Just how many families are, right now, thinking they simply cant afford a summer holiday, quite a few I suspect.. let's be honest, the day to day cost of living is painful for most all of us.

Money is tight....summer holidays are on your mind....yes, we get it, we really do!

Scotland is a wonderful place to spend your summer holiday, however some operators, just don't get it...

Using a "famous" booking engine for holidays , 7 nights in July, for 4 people..... take a look at the photo...

So, we are, for a 2 bedroom lodge £827, just down the road from us its £1711....Ummm thats more than double us!

But wait, did you didn't know, using a booking engine is NOT the best way to book?

So, same lodge, booked direct with us is £670, you will need to add towels (4 people £8.00) and pay for your electric use...but even then its going to be little more than £700....so on 4 people, for 7 nights, in the summer , thats £25.00 per person, per night...

So, finally, after the best part of a year, what felt like endless documents and a visit back to my 15 year old self drawing layout plans ( I didn't pass Technical Drawing either, so that was a challenge !), we have our STL (Short Term Let) License. What does this mean for our guests? Very little is the honest answer, 95% of what we "had" to do, we were already doing, and the remaining 5% was all in the pipeline of things to update. None the less, after checks from the Fire Brigade, Planning, Police and the council you can be assured (if you weren't already) that we are a "Right & Proper Business"...

Hurrah then.
