Your creativity hasn’t died.
It’s just been hibernating for awhile.
If, like me, you are feeling the call to get back to your creative roots, now is the time to start.
You don’t need a plan, you just need to make the smallest space for your own art to exist in your life.
I’ve made a decision, inspired by to do just one small thing a day.
So I’m drawing on Zoom calls or when I pause for lunch.
I’m painting whilst I help the kids with homework.
I’m not waiting for the perfect setup, or moment.
And I’m not waiting for a big creative breakthrough.
I’m just focussing on what is in front of me.
And right now that seems to be a lot of flowers.
(It’s a great excuse to buy flowers!)
I think we tend to overcomplicate creativity.
We wait until we have time, space, energy, clarity or all of the above.
But your creativity never went away.
It just needed a tiny space to breathe.
So do one thing a day.
For 5 or 10 minutes.
Imperfect…
Half distracted or slightly rushed.
It all still counts.
I painted yellow freesias.
What will you do today?
