It boasts some of the world's most stunning beaches, beckoning travelers with their pristine sands, crystal-clear waters, and breathtaking natural vistas. With over 115 islands, each presenting its unique charm, Seychelles is a tapestry of paradise waiting to be explored.

One of the crown jewels of Seychelles is the iconic Anse Source d'Argent on La Digue Island. Its dramatic scenery, characterized by surreal granite boulders juxtaposed against powdery white sands and aquamarine waters, makes it a photographer's dream and a haven for serenity seekers. As the sun dances on the horizon, casting an ethereal glow, visitors find themselves enveloped in a surreal atmosphere, experiencing the sheer beauty that defines Seychelles.

The allure doesn't end there. Praslin, the second-largest island, boasts the world-renowned Anse Lazio. This pristine stretch of beach consistently tops lists of the planet's best beaches. With its soft sands fringed by lush palm trees and the warm, inviting waters teeming with vibrant marine life, Anse Lazio is a haven for snorkelers and sunbathers alike. Exploring the underwater wonderland here is an adventure like no other, a kaleidoscope of colors and life beneath the surface.

However, the splendor of Seychelles' beaches isn't confined to these popular spots. Remote and secluded islands like Bird and Denis offer untouched stretches of sand, inviting visitors to experience a sense of pure escapism. Here, the only sounds are the gentle lapping of waves against the shore and the rustling of palm fronds in the ocean breeze.

Seychelles isn't just about lounging on exquisite beaches; it's a destination rich in culture, adventure, and luxury. Travelers can immerse themselves in the vibrant local life, savoring Creole cuisine bursting with flavors that reflect the diverse heritage of the islands. For the adventurous souls, activities abound - from hiking lush trails to diving into the vibrant underwater world, exploring granite outcrops, or even embarking on a fishing expedition in the vast azure waters.

Luxurious accommodations scattered across these islands offer a blend of opulence and tranquility, ensuring a holiday filled with comfort and relaxation. Whether it's an intimate beachfront villa or a high-end resort nestled in the lush tropical landscape, Seychelles spoils visitors with a range of choices for an unforgettable stay.

Seychelles Tourism Department Takes a Momentous Leap Toward Sustainability

In a resounding declaration of its unwavering commitment to fostering a more sustainable Seychelles, the Tourism Department proudly launched its latest tourism campaign yesterday, October 25th, 2023, on the verdant grounds of the Botanical Garden.

Under the banner of the “Sustainable Seychelles Brand”, this visionary initiative is spurred by a collective determination to safeguard the paradise of Seychelles for generations yet to come. The brand aspires to provide a comprehensive roadmap for adopting and promoting sustainable practices throughout the tourism industry and other sectors, with an emphasis on unity and shared responsibility. The brand aims to guarantee that Seychelles remains a clean and ecologically conscious destination by promoting cooperation and active engagement.

The campaign was officially launched by the Minister for Foreign Affairs & Tourism, Mr Sylvestre Radegonde. In attendance was the esteemed Mrs Sherin Francis, Principal Secretary for Tourism, joined by Mr Denis Matatiken, Principal Secretary for Environment, Mr Tony Imaduwa, Principal Secretary for Energy and Climate Change Department, and Mr Shane Emilie, Chief Executive Officer of the Landscape and Waste Management Agency (LWMA). The ceremony also witnessed the presence of numerous NGOs and representatives of the Tourism Industry.

The Sustainable Seychelles campaign is built upon three robust pillars: Sensitization and Awareness, Education and Training, and Service Monitoring and Awards. Notably, these pillars include the much-anticipated Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label (SSTL), which has been renamed as Sustainable Seychelles Recognition and Certification and will now operate under the Sustainable Seychelles umbrella brand.

The grand reveal of the Sustainable Seychelles Brand Logo and captivating launch video was entrusted to the capable hands of Mrs Bernadette Willemin, the Director General for Destination Marketing. The visual elements spoke volumes, conveying the key aspects of sustainability in Seychelles, both present and future.

In a gesture of admiration, the Tourism Department used this platform to acknowledge four outstanding partners who were pioneers in embracing the Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label back in 2012. These trailblazing entities—Constance Ephelia Resort, Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort, Hanneman Holiday Residence, and Kempinski Seychelles Resort—were hailed for their enduring commitment to sustainability.

Partners holding valid SSTL certification programmes were proudly presented with their new Sustainable Seychelles certificates, a testament to their ongoing dedication to sustainable practices.

As the event drew to a close, the attendees were treated to a special performance by the talented duo Ryan Louise and Cresshiela Ladouceur. Together, they brought the Sustainable Seychelles

Brand's anthem to life, a melodious composition by Raymond Clarisse, ensuring that the energy remained high and spirits soared.

Trader Vic’s Seychelles as a venue is the life and soul of the Beau Vallon and home to the famous Mai Tai®cocktail –which dates back to 1944.

Years ahead of his time, this world renowned restaurant chose to offer Chinese dishes alongside the then-contemporary continental cuisine, creating the original fusion menu decades before it would become a trend.

Following the culinary curiosity along the ancient spice route, the founders collected recipes to bring back to Trader Vic’s, and this eclectic cuisine reinvented fine dining. Following in these footsteps, each venue is constantly innovating and adding to the menu while the zeal to scour the globe for new ideas and revolutionising dishes goes on.

The signature restaurant in Seychelles sets a world-standard for tropical sophistication with its eclectic cuisine –enhanced by using a Chinese wood-fired oven. Trader Vic’s Chinese Ovens can be traced back to the Han Dynasty. This method of cooking differs from traditional direct fire barbecues and imparts a subtle flavor and helps create a unique dining experience.

Each Trader Vic’s showcases this style of ancient cooking. You get to savor an exciting menu every month along with the authentic ‘Taste the World Cuisine’ available all through the year or just enjoy and sip the tropical cocktails curated from international & local favourites.

Fisherman’s CoveResort...your key to theultimate Seychelles adventure By Glynn Burridge

The Seychelles archipelago’s 115 islands are situated 1600 km from the east coast of Africa. They are divided into 41 steep, granitic islands and 74 flat coralline reef islands and atolls of which only 16 currently offer accommodation for visitors. They lie spreadacross their secret corner of the western Indian Ocean like precious gemstones set in a universe of azure water –stepping stones to the east coast of Africa, some thousand miles away, and natural gateway to the many treasures of the continent beyond.

Only 2 centuries old, Seychelles has always been a melting pot of peoples from every corner of the planet who, together, form today’s tranquil yet vibrant 90,000-strong Seychellois Creole society, the vast majority of whom are catholic.
These islands were first discovered by the brave Arab mariners of the 9thcentury B.C. who first began to chart the unknown waters of an ocean they called the ‘bahr al zanj’’ or ‘sea of the blacks’, leaving traces of their presence in the names they gave to certain of the islands such as Aldabra which is sometimes appropriately translated from Arabic as ‘the rock.’After having served as a hideout for the pirates of the 17thand 18thcentury, one of whom, Olivier Le Vasseur, also known as La Buse, is believed to have buried a massive and as yet undiscovered treasure hoard on the main island, Mahé, the islands were finally settled by the French in 1756.

They remained a French colony until they passed to the English after the defeat of Napoleon in 1814 and it was they who administrated the islands until their independence as a sovereign republic within the Commonwealth in 1976.

The islands’ legendary loveliness has long acted as a magnet to travellers in search of the Holy Grail of pristine tropical beauty and many famoustravellershave beaten a path to its shores including the likes of Ian Fleming, author of James Bond, who visited the islands to receive inspiration for one of his Bond books.

The Seychelles Islandsfinally emerged from their slumber of ages in 1972 when they became connected to the rest of the world via a new international airport which saw the birth of the islands’ tourism industry.

Today, in every way, Fishermans Coveechoes -and adds value -to the rich history of the islands since their eventual settlement in 1770;to Seychelles’multi-dimensional culture-and beyond-to the indomitable island-style soul that still reigns as a reflection of the unique topography, diverse flora and fauna and the wonderful air of other-worldliness that pervades everything from the mist-topped granite peaks, the emerald forests, right down to the sapphire ocean.

The pedigree of this hotel extends back to 1943, even before the opening of the International airport several decades later and ranks among the very earliest island accommodation establishments on the island to open its doors to the first wide-eyed travellers to visit these shores.
