National Dog Month Spotlight: Artemis - Big Bark, Bigger Heart Proudly owned by Tyler Schneider

Meet Artemis, the Cane Corso/Mastiff mix who’s as brainy as she is brawny. Turning 8 this November, on the same day as her human Tyler, Artemis is a birthday twin with a whole lot of attitude.

Trained early on by Tyler’s wife, Artemis quickly proved herself to be the smartest dog in the house. But with great intelligence comes great stubbornness, she knows what she wants, and she’s not afraid to let you know it. Her bark might sound fierce, but don’t be fooled: when the thunder rolls in, Artemis turns into a snuggle-seeking softie.

Her favorite snack? Whatever tasty morsel her human brother leaves behind. Artemis is no stranger to opportunistic snacking, and she’s got the timing down to an art.

Strong, smart, and secretly sensitive, Artemis is the kind of dog who keeps life interesting and keeps her family laughing.

National Dog Month Tribute: Stella Hoppes - Forever the Best Bar Dog Loved by Dave Hoppes and her favorite human, Mom Shelley

Meet Stella Hoppes, a true legend whose paws left permanent prints on every heart she met. Though she passed just weeks shy of her 14th birthday, Stella’s spirit still lingers in every corner of the bar she called home.

A certified service dog and beloved “bar dog,” Stella spent nearly every day by Shelley’s side- greeting patrons, stealing hearts, and occasionally stealing the spotlight. Her most iconic moment? A cameo in a Coors Light promo poster, lounging at the bar under the tagline: “In dog beers, I’ve only had one.” Classic Stella- cool, witty, and effortlessly charming.

She had a playful streak too. Her fetch game came with a twist: bring the ball, then demand a tug-of-war before the next throw. It was her way of keeping things interesting and keeping you on your toes.

Stella wasn’t just a dog. She was a fixture, a friend, and a furry reminder that loyalty, love, and a little mischief make life better. She’ll always be remembered as the best dog ever.

National Dog Month Spotlight: Woody Stroud - The Sock-Retrieving Sweetheart Owned and adored by Kelly Stroud; Woody is an 8-month-old Goldendoodle puppy with the heart of a Golden Retriever and the charm of a total goofball.

Though he may look like a Golden, Woody’s personality is all his own- sweet, silly, and endlessly entertaining. He’s got a knack for retrieving just about anything: socks, sticks, toys… you name it, he’ll bring it back with pride.

In this photo, Woody’s wet because he’s been hanging out by the pool-though don’t let that fool you. Despite the soggy fur, he’s not a fan of water. Poolside lounging? Yes. Swimming? Hard pass.

Woody has brought so much joy to the Stroud family, proving to be the perfect addition with his lovable nature and quirky habits. Whether he’s trotting around with a sock in his mouth or flashing that wet-but-wonderful smile, Woody is a reminder that the best companions come with fur, fun, and a whole lot of heart.

Stay tuned as we continue celebrating the Dogs of TDI all month long!

National Dog Month Spotlight: Zeus - The Gentle Giant in Training and his brother Duke- Owned and adored by Jason Fleury, Zeus is a 5-month-old Great Dane with a heart as big as his paws- and trust us, those paws are massive. Duke is a lab-hound mix who is the side kick to Zeus.

Though he’s still a pup, Zeus is growing fast and already matches his big brother Duke in height. But don’t let his size fool you- this laid-back boy is all about naps, snuggles, and short bursts of zoomie madness. His daily routine? Zoom for 10-15 minutes, nap for two hours, repeat.

Zeus is a classic Great Dane: goofy, drooly, and deeply devoted to his people. He’s learning all the essentials- sit, stay, shake, and even “leave it”- and his humans are ambitiously working on paw-wiping and post-drink mouth dabbing (because, well… drool happens).

A true Velcro dog, Zeus loves being by your side and never misses a chance to make new friends. His favorite activities? Sprawling across ¾ of the couch, pulling out every toy he owns, and teaming up with Duke to chase the grandson all over the house in a whirlwind of tail-wagging chaos.

Zeus may still be building his confidence, but he’s already mastered the art of stealing hearts. Stay tuned for more furry features as we continue celebrating the Dogs of TDI this National Dog Month!

National Dog Month Spotlight: Appa - The Chill Charmer with Cat-Like Swagger Owned and adored by Taylor Camp, Appa is the kind of pup who turns heads and melts hearts- all while keeping it cool. With his sunny disposition and laid-back vibes, he’s got the whole neighborhood wrapped around his paw.

Appa shares his kingdom with two cats, Chloe and Ashes, and let’s just say… he’s picked up a few feline habits. Whether he’s lounging like royalty or strutting through the house like he owns it (because he kinda does), Appa’s got personality for days. Part dog, part cat, all heart.

We are celebrating the Dogs of TDI all month long- because every logistics legend deserves a furry sidekick.

National Dog Month Spotlight – Draco – From Pound to Park: The Legend of Draco by his owner Matt Brentlinger

Draco wasn’t just any dog- he was a whirlwind wrapped in fur; a four-year-old German Shepherd-Golden Retriever mix with the heart of a lion. His black coat shimmered in the sun, and his ears perked up like radar dishes every time someone said the magic word: “walk.” Every morning after he is done being a cuddle monster, Draco would leap from his bed like a rocket, tail wagging furiously, ready to patrol the neighborhood. The leash was merely a formality; Draco knew the route better than any GPS. He strutted like he owned the sidewalks, occasionally pausing to sniff mysterious scents or give a friendly bark to squirrels who dared cross his path. Forget when he hears the mailman deliver mail, he goes ballistic.

But the real adventure began at the park. As soon as I unclipped the leash, Draco transformed. Zoomies activated. He dashed in wild circles, tongue flopping, paws kicking up dirt like a racehorse. Children giggled, joggers dodged, and other dogs watched in awe as Draco became the park’s unofficial mayor. Then came the mop. Back home, Draco faced his greatest nemesis. The mop. It slithered across the floor like a snake, and Draco, the fearless warrior, would charge it with heroic growls and playful pounces. I couldn’t mop a single tile without Draco launching a full-scale attack. It was their weekly battle, and neither side ever truly won.

At night, after the mop wars and zoomie marathons, Draco would curl up beside me, his energy finally spent. His eyes would flutter closed, and his tail would twitch with dreams of parks, squirrels, and victorious mop takedowns. Because for Draco, every day was an adventure. And for me, every day with Draco is a gift. When I went to the pound and saw him for the first time, I knew he was coming home with me, he was the calmest and saddest looking puppy there.

National Dog Month Spotlight: Moose - Cherished companion of Andrea Dewell

Let’s hear it for Moose, who’s turning sweet 16 this September, and still living life like a true legend.

Moose is the definition of laid-back love. Whether he’s curled up with Andrea or her son for a cozy cuddle, or out exploring the world on a walk, hike, or swim, he brings calm joy to every moment. His chill personality makes him a friend to all humans, dogs, and probably even squirrels.

His favorite toy? A squeaky rubber chicken that never fails to entertain. His favorite treat? Cheese, of course, because this distinguished gentleman has refined taste.

Moose may be a senior, but his heart is forever young. Here’s to celebrating every cuddle, every splash, and every cheesy snack during National Dog Month. Happy early birthday, Moose- you’re a treasure!

National Dog Month Spotlight: Ducky & Bailey - Proudly owner - Shannon Jackson

Meet Ducky and Bailey, two very different pups with one shared mission: living life to the fullest.

Ducky, our 13-year-old Pitty/Lab mix, is the seasoned soul of the pack. A shelter rescue with a heart of gold, he’s happiest when the skies open up and the rain calls him to play. Come football season, he’s not just a fan, he’s THE Ohio State Buckeyes’ unofficial hype man, barking with pride from the breezeway. Off-season? He’s all about backyard chill time… unless Bailey’s around to stir up a game of tag.

Bailey, our 11-month-old Panda Pug, is a whirlwind of curiosity and chaos. If it fits in her mouth, she’s eating it. If it squeaks, she’s “killing” it. And if it moves, she’s licking it into submission. Her partner-in-crime is a cat named Mouse (yes, irony fully intended), and together they turn the house into a playground, unless she’s outside keeping Ducky on his toes.

These two bring joy, laughter, and a whole lot of love to our lives. Happy National Dog Month to all the pups out there, especially our rain-chasing, toy-wrecking, football-loving duo!
