We are delighted to welcome Korean-American pianist Minsoo Sohn to its roster for general management. He will be represented by Vice President and Artist Manager Federico M. Benigni from the company’s London office. He continues to be represented in Asia by MOC Production.

Conductor Jonathon Heyward continues his acclaimed 2025/26 season with his Dallas Symphony and Minnesota Orchestra debuts. He leads Dallas at the Meyerson Symphony Center on 15, 16 and 18 May in a commanding programme of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 “Emperor”, with pianist Benjamin Grosvenor and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 9. Jonathon explores Beethoven’s 3rd Piano Concerto, with pianist Alice Sara Ott, at Minnesota’s Orchestra Hall on 30 and 31 May. The concerts also include Weber’s Overture to Oberon and Schumann’s Symphony No. 2.

Celebrated collaborative pianist James Baillieu returns to London’s Wigmore Hall on Saturday, 17 May. This special Focus Day will see three recitals performed and curated by Baillieu: Secrets and Mysteries with baritone Henk Neven at 11:30; Sibelius, Rachmaninov, Obradors and more with soprano Elena Villalón at 15:30; and Duparc, Jake Heggie, C Schumann and more with mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton at 19:30.

Roberto González-Monjas and François Leleux make their hotly anticipated Orchestre de Paris debuts on 14 and 15 May! González-Monjas conducts composer and organist Thierry Escaich’s Double concerto pour violon et hautbois, featuring Leleux with violinist Lisa Batiashvili. This work is also featured on Leleux’s new PENTATONE release, Forgotten Horizons: Escaich, Bacri & Jarrell, available from Friday, 16 May. The programme also includes Escaich performing his own Improvisations à l’orgue and joining Bach’s Concerto pour violon et hautbois.

Daniela stands at the forefront of a new generation of opera singers, bringing a compelling blend of intensity, adventurousness, and effortless charisma to her performances. This season, she returns to both the Metropolitan Opera and Los Angeles Opera as Federico García Lorca in the new production of Ainadamar. She also appears with Lyric Opera of Chicago as Angela in Missy Mazzoli’s The Listeners, and with San Francisco Opera as Idamante in Idomeneo. Additionally, she makes her debut at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma as Orsini in Lucrezia Borgia.

The Limelight Recording of the Month for May is a treasure-trove of riches from two fin-de-siècle Viennese composers: the chameleon-like Wilhelm Grosz, and the criminally obscure Robert Gund, friend to Brahms and Mahler, but barely represented, even on disc. It’s the brainchild of Christian Immler, bass-baritone and his pianistic partner, in-demand accompanist Helmut Deutsch. Clive Paget caught up with the German-born, Swiss-domiciled bass-baritone to learn more about these forgotten masters of the Lied.
