✈️🛥️ "SEA YOU SOON!" Cebu Airport Launches Jet-to-Ferry Transfers for Island Hoppers
By: Your Travel Pulse Desk
CEBU CITY — Fly in, sail out!
That’s the new pitch from Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), which just announced its latest flex: a seamless air-to-sea transfer service connecting the airport straight to nearby islands like Bohol, Siquijor, and Camotes — no taxis, no drama, no wasted time.
The system, rolled out under the "Cebu+" program, will let travelers book ferry tickets right at the airport, hop on a free 5-minute shuttle, and board their ride at Mactan Marina Wharf, just in time for their next tropical escape.
“Instead of competing with island destinations, we’re bundling them,” said Christine Villanueva, the strategic brain at Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corp., during a launch event on July 10.
🧳 From Runway to Reef
Dubbed “CEB Connects”, this innovative blueprint marks a big leap in intermodal travel — turning Cebu into a true central hub where planes, ferries, and vacation dreams collide.
The first wave of this initiative includes:
✅ 2 scheduled Supercat trips daily
🧭 Access to Bohol, Camotes, and Siquijor
🎯 Plans for Malapascua, Bantayan, and Dumaguete in the pipeline
Travelers arriving at MCIA can now book, ride, and sail in under 30 minutes — cutting out the chaos of taxi lines and third-party port transfers.
🌐 International Push
Even global travelers are part of the plan. The airport has partnered with Klook to help market the service abroad, so tourists from Japan, Korea, and beyond can now plan multi-stop island trips with ease.
“This is part of a larger vision — Cebu as a superhub,” insiders say.
And it doesn’t stop there. More expansions are underway under the "Cebu Balik" program, focused on providing better air-to-air transfers and OFW support services, especially for arrivals from the Middle East.
