This stunning volcanic crater is around 6,500 years old and can be added as an extra stop on our Golden Circle tour. You can walk along the rim for incredible views or head down into the crater for a closer look at its striking blue lake.

Gullfoss feels more powerful every time I visit. In spring, the Langjökull glacier melts faster each day, feeding the falls all the way into late summer. It changes with every season, and soon the hills around it will be turning green again.

Second evening in a row when my wife calls me to come out to see the aurora. It was even stronger tonight than yesterday. Dancing over our house here in Iceland.

Some evenings the northern lights are so strong here in Reykjavik, Iceland, that you can just walk outside of your house and see them. That was the case this evening. My wife went outside and saw how strong it were and asked me to come out to see. And then this is what waited for me. We Icelanders are so used to this that we did not think much about it until people started traveling to Iceland just to see this. Then we realised that this maybe is something worth walk outside your house to see :)

Sometimes the northern lights are so strong that you can easily see them in Reykjavik despite the light pollution. I was driving my younger daughter to football practice this evening and saw the aurora dancing while driving back home. Took this picture of our house after I parked.
