Please make sure your trash never ends up in the ocean. A single plastic bag or bottle may seem harmless, but for many marine animals it looks like food. Fish, turtles, dolphins, and seabirds often swallow plastic, causing injury, starvation, or death.

The story doesn’t end there. As plastic breaks down, it becomes microplastics—tiny particles that are invisible to the naked eye. These particles enter the food chain through marine life and eventually find their way back onto our plates and into our bodies.

The sea gives us so much. It’s our responsibility to give something back by keeping it clean.

Let’s leave behind memories—not plastic.

🇭🇷 Keep Croatia Beautiful 💙

Every summer, millions of visitors come to Croatia to enjoy our crystal-clear sea, beautiful beaches, and untouched nature. Unfortunately, thousands of pieces of plastic, cigarette butts, bottle caps, cans, and other waste are left behind on our beaches or end up in the Adriatic Sea.

A single cigarette butt can pollute hundreds of liters of water, while plastic bottles and caps can remain in nature for hundreds of years. Marine animals often mistake plastic for food, and eventually, that pollution comes back to all of us.

If you are visiting Croatia this summer, we have one simple request:

When you leave the beach, take your own trash with you. Better yet, pick up one or two pieces of litter that someone else left behind.

It only takes a minute, but if thousands of people do the same every day, together we can make a huge difference.

Leave the seashells where they belong—they are part of the natural ecosystem and help keep our beaches alive. Instead, take home beautiful memories, photographs, and respect for the place that welcomed you.

🇭🇷 Croatia will be grateful. So will the Adriatic Sea.
