Islam new year on July 7, 2024. Amongst other home made goodies such as maqluba with chicken thighs and Jamil, cucumber and mint salad with yogurt followed feta stuffed kibbeh with harissa and tzatziki as well as spinach and feta galettes and with baklava for dessert .

Canada Day bbq with ribs, mango and peppercorn goat cheese bruschetta, loaded jacket potatoes and tangy rhubarb salsa with skewered vegetables. Canadian wines from Prince Edward County and Niagara sealed the deal. 🍇

St Patrick’s Day 2024. Favourite Irish Soda Bread - so awesome and moist. (Taste of Home) with Baked Crispy Cabbage Chips (vegan, keto easy). Then Colcannon and Cucumber Bites with Smoked Salmon as first course. Not featured Guinness Beef Shepherd’s Pie ( some lamb included!). Dessert was an awesome Irish Apple Cake. The last Sunday in Black History Month we gave homage to the Jamaican culture of food and music. Here we have authentic Jamaican patties and Jamaican codfish balls ( extra Grace hot sauce on the side), followed by “rice and peas” with Curried Goat and a simple green salad. ( you should know this goat curry is a secret recipe and cannot be shared! ) All the wines featured were a great match.

Happy Chinese New Year of the Dragon! Having done my research, I touched on all the elements of prosperity, health, happiness, longevity, unity with the following homemade dishes: Pearl Balls, Shrimp Spring Rolls and Lunar New Year Dumplings as appetizers followed by Three Cup Chicken served over Longevity Noodles. Chinese steamed fish with Ginger Shallot sauce and Prosperity Salad. The feast capped by Steamed Chinese New Year Cake. So much work but so yummy!

Celebrating Thanksgiving with slow cooker Greek lamb and Amazing German Red Cabbage and Smoked Salmon 7 layer dip to start. October 15 was Tunisian Evacuation Day National holiday so Mlawi bread with Zucchini Azlouk, Tajine el Bey and Mbatten Brouklou with Harissa. Honouring Nonna with her Spaghetti Bolognese sauce and Margherita Pizza Mushrooms. Eggplant Parmesan and Kale Ceasar for a special birthday and Grizzled Za’atar flatbread and spinach ricotta rolls, Loaded Jacket Potatoes ( not shown) as part of Guy Fawkes Day. 🍷
