We are a Dutch/Argentinean couple with many years of travel experience in South America. Our passion for Argentina has always been present, but grew stronger after several long trips throughout this huge country. That is why in 2008 we decided to move from Europe to Argentina and to settle in the Sierras de Córdoba. Argentina is an extremely divers country, with an incredible nature and

a very hospitable population. With our travel agency Heart of Argentina Travel we love to design your custom made trip in both Argentina and/or Chile (we added Chile as a destination after traveling extensively in that country for several seasons). We organize individual travel or group travel, all according to your wishes. Because we have a very strong local network we can offer unique, private excursions (always with English speaking guide) as well. One thing is for sure, if you travel via us you will experience the authentic Argentina or Chile. Earlier this week we went to the Marble Caves located at Lago General Carrera.

These breathtaking formations, sculpted by water over thousands of years, display mesmerizing blue and turquoise hues. Accessible only by boat or kayak, they offer a unique and unforgettable experience for travelers.

The Cono de Arita is a nearly perfect volcanic cone in Salar de Arizaro, Argentina.

Rising 200 meters (656 feet), its symmetry once led people to believe it was a man-made pyramid.

This unique formation sits in one of Argentina’s largest salt flats, creating a surreal landscape.

“We traveled with our four-year-old son, and HOAT took care of the Patagonia part of our trip down to the last detail. They know exactly how to translate your wishes into a beautiful itinerary with suitable accommodations. In our case, it was a wonderful mix of mid-range, unique, urban, and remote locations—just what we wanted. Everything was perfect: the cars, the accommodations, and the trips/excursions were flawlessly arranged; there were no unexpected surprises. For navigation, we even received a mobile phone with a SIM card. Truly outstanding.

We found Jan to be knowledgeable, thoughtful, flexible, and extremely helpful whenever we had a question—even outside regular hours. Highly recommended.

Met slechts voorbereidingstijd van 5 weken heeft HOAT een onvergetelijke reis door Argentinië voor ons samengesteld. Een zeer afwisselend en heerlijk vol programma langs toeristische en ook veel niet-toeristische plekken. Mooie kleinschalige hotels, fantastische excursies (veelal prive), vriendelijke gidsen/reisleiders overal. We hebben ontzettend genoten, iedere dag weer. In 4 weken tijd 4 seizoenen ervaren in het prachtige Argentinie. Jan en Lis staan voor zeer persoonlijke service en reizen op afstand een beetje mee (door zeer geregeld even kort contactmomentje te hebben om te vragen of alles naar wens verloopt, heel prettig). In 2024, we visited , located in Valle de Uco, and took an interesting guided tour about the history of wine in Mendoza and this particular winery. They also explained the different types of grapes that exist and which ones they use for each product.

The Mendoza region is full of vineyards, and you can find some of the best wines in the world there.

Practical: the Chilean airline Sky now connects Santiago de Chile (SCL) with El Calafate (FTE) in Argentina. This is the second connection that Sky makes directly from Santiago to the Patagonian part of Argentina; the first being the connection Bariloche (BRC) with the capitol of Chile. Important: these routes only operate in the season (Mid-December to Mid-March)
