First time Disney family? You’ve probably heard from your neighbor’s friend’s sister which resort is “best” and where they bought their matching Mickey shirts, but what’s best for one family is a terrible idea for another.

Here’s a few things I wish you knew.
✨Find the right resort for YOU.
✨Pick a few priorities and don’t stress over the rest.
✨Mickey will not care if you don’t have matching shirts.
✨Sleep in and skip rope drop if you want to.

There are hundreds of decisions to make, and when you’re traveling with little kids, you don’t want to spend your vacation exhausted because you tried to do it all.

When a family comes to me for help, I’m not just checking boxes and making reservations.

I’ve been there. You want to start planning your family vacation so you hop on the chat thinking that you’ll get all the information you need so you can book it yourself.

AI will never be able to provide the personalized planning that you get with a travel advisor. We get to know you and your family and can make the right decisions for your vacation using judgment and discernment. We have the personal experience of walking the resorts, eating at the restaurants, experiencing the parks. That’s something AI will never be able to do.

We can help you decide what you actually need and don’t need based on YOU, not just your budget.

We take the time to explain all the moving parts that Disney has, and are able to walk you through in real time how everything will work for your family- before, during, and following up after your trip.

You see the reservation. I see everything that happens before, during, and after it. ❤️

One of the biggest misconceptions about using a travel advisor is that our job is simply to “book the trip.”

The booking is actually just one small piece of what I do.

I spend time researching. I compare options. I keep up with changes. I watch for promotions. I create guides. I send reminders. I think through logistics.

But most importantly, I get to know YOU.

Because planning a Disney vacation for one family can look completely different from planning one for another.

The same is true for Universal and cruises.

There isn’t one perfect itinerary, resort, ship, dining plan or strategy that works for everyone.

AI can give you information.
Google can give you information.
TikTok can give you information.

My job is to take all of that information and use experience, research and discernment to help you decide what actually makes sense for your family.

And honestly? A lot of the work happens quietly.

You may never know I spent an hour researching something because you asked one simple question.

You may never know I noticed a promotion and checked whether it could benefit your reservation.

You may never know I put together a guide because I knew you were going to need that information a few months from now.

That’s the behind-the-scenes part of my job.

I’m not just here to book your vacation.

Worried about booking your cruise during hurricane season??👇

Here’s the deal:
1. The weather can’t be controlled or predicted. There’s no way to know weeks, months, or a year in advance what it’s going to do. Things can change even days before. “Hurricane season” is technically six months out of the year (that’s half the year!), but bad weather can happen at any time so don’t let that stop you from cruising.

2. Set your expectations properly. Bad weather can happen and it’s not the cruise lines fault. Most of the time there are no issues, but it’s always good to be prepared if something has to change so you’re not disappointed. There could be a port you’re not able to dock at or the cruise might be rerouted or delayed for the safety of the passengers and crew. It’s a very small percentage, but it can happen.

3. Be prepared with motion sickness medication and try them out before your cruise to know how your body reacts. There is a health center on board that does have complimentary motion sickness meds outside the door (ask me how I know! 😅). You should do this on any cruise, hurricane season or not.

4. ALWAYS get to your cruise port city at least a day before you’re scheduled to board, especially if you’re flying. There could be weather issues at your home airport, mechanical issues, flat tires, lost luggage, you name it. Give yourself a buffer! Also consider travel insurance for peace of mind if anything happens.

5. If ports are skipped due to weather and you booked an excursion through the cruise line you will automatically be refunded. If you book outside of the cruise line always ask if they have a policy that refunds if the ship can’t dock that day. Also, the crew on the ship will constantly be adapting the schedule if there is bad weather so they will add more events and activities that day and there will still be plenty of fun things to do!!

There’s a reason thousands of people who cruise again and again year after year because they love it so much. You won’t know until you go! So don’t let these fears stop you from trying it! 🚢🤍
