Roald Amundsen conquered the South Pole. Marco Polo travelled the length and breadth of Asia. But how about us? We only travel to school or work – or go on two-week holidays. When someone says “challenge”, we think about filling out a tax form or putting on a tie under stress. And when we fight, then usually with a bad cold or an interrupted internet connection or over the remote control. Yes, our
21st century life is sometimes strange and bizarre. But don’t get us wrong! We usually enjoy this run-of-the-mill sort of life, because it also offers us a feeling of security and stability. And after all, we are very much free to do, what ever we want. What a luxury! Now it’s time to actually enjoy this freedom. Our team of adventurers – comprising Yvonne and Alex from Berlin, Wolf from Hamburg and André from Potsdam – is ready to head town to Chile in early 2016, in order to participate in the notorious and wild “Patagonia Expedition Race”. On this website we want to report about this adventure: about our joyful anticipation, about the worries, the training and the equipment – and of course about the race itself.
