Sometimes the best memories are made when you slow down and take the scenic route.

Instead of staying on I-24 through Tennessee, we decided to hop on Route 41 and make the drive part of the adventure — and I’m so glad we did. We stumbled upon the hidden gem of Foster Falls, a stunning waterfall tucked into the mountains of Tennessee. The falls are known for their scenic overlook, suspension bridge, and hiking trail leading down to the waterfall.

You can enjoy the breathtaking view right from the top, or take the hike down and cross the swinging bridge for an even closer look at the falls. Either way, it’s absolutely worth the stop. 🌿

These are the kinds of places that turn a regular road trip into memories you’ll talk about for years.

If you’re traveling near Kansas City or making a stop off Route 69, the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens is worth adding to your itinerary! 🌿

With gorgeous walking trails, beautiful gardens, a nature-inspired playground, a unique train display, coffee bar, clean restrooms, and peaceful scenery throughout, it’s the perfect place to stop and stretch your legs during a road trip.

The sculpture garden is currently the only area where dogs are permitted, so plan accordingly if you’re traveling with pets. 🐾

Be sure to check the hours on their website before visiting, and note that there is a small admission fee — except on the first Tuesday of each month when admission is free!
