THE CHILL !!!

Warm days are on their way out, that crisp air is creeping in...and the mountains are calling ⛰️
Come join us for a chilled 8km guided hike..easy pace, lots of laughs, good company and those wide-open views that just hit different this time of year. We’ll take it all in, spot some birds 🐦 (and maybe wildlife if we’re lucky 🐾).. and just enjoy being out there.
No pressure, no rushing... just good vibes all the way 👌
And of course, we’re not ending there
We’ll wrap things up the Hyqe Club way: a relaxed braai 🔥 and a cheeky pool dip 💦 for the brave ones. Let's enjoy the last bit of warmth together before winter fully settles in🔥💦

🌿 MONDAY - Nature/Safety/Plant/Animal

Did you know that Acacia trees actually "talk" to each other? 🌿

When animals like giraffes begin browsing on an Acacia tree, the tree releases a warning gas into the air. Nearby Acacia trees pick up this signal and quickly increase the bitterness and toxins in their leaves to protect themselves from being eaten.

Even more fascinating? Some animals have learned this behaviour and will move against the wind or spread out while feeding to avoid triggering the warning system too quickly.

Nature is far more connected, intelligent and adaptive than we often realise. The bush is always communicating... we just need to slow down enough to notice it. 🌍

The Weg! Stapfees Go! Festival of Hiking has unfortunately been postponed while a new date is being finalised.

But the adventure continues...

We’re excited to share that we’re also putting together a South African Adventure Industry Association Open Day (Gauteng); a fun and interactive outdoor gathering bringing together hikers, guides, adventure businesses and nature lovers to connect, learn and celebrate the adventure industry together.

And that’s not all 👣
We’re also lining up more Hyqe Club adventures; from scenic hikes and relaxed outdoor social days to fresh new trail experiences...it's going to be memorable as always

Another proper Sunday well spent…up in the mountains, in the water, under the sun and far away from the noise of normal life.

From steep climbs and beautiful views to cold river splashes and tired legs, our Sunday had a bit of everything. Earth Walkers enjoying nature, sharing laughs, helping each other through the tough parts and making memories without even trying too hard.

April Theme: Adventure & Challenge 🌄

As we approach the end of April, we’re fully embracing our theme of Adventure & Challenge and doing it in great fun, the way we always do 🙌

This time, we take things up a notch with The Raft experience 🚣‍♂️ where the trail meets the water. Think scenic riverfront paths, beautiful ridge views and those moments that make us stop and take it all in 🌿

And it’s not just about the hike… we’ll also be enjoying a lovely braai together 🔥🍖 before wrapping it all up with a thrilling river rafting experience; the perfect mix of adventure and good vibes!

We'll get to push ourselves at our own pace, enjoy the experience and celebrate every moment...and not just the finish line 💪

🥾 The Rim of Africa just hit a massive milestone; 10 years of pushing limits, building community and redefining what adventure in South Africa looks like 🎉🇿🇦

For a full decade, this 650 km mountain traverse has taken hikers deep into some of the country’s most raw and untouched landscapes ⛰️🌿 It’s a proper test of endurance, grit and mindset 💪 The kind where hikers start as strangers and finish as a tribe, bonded by blisters, laughter and those “we actually did that” moments 😄🔥

🌿WEDNESDAY - BEHIND THE SCENES

Cleaning our gear after a long day on the trail… not the most glamorous part of hiking, but somehow still part of the vibe 😄

The mud on our boots, the dusty backpacks...proof that we really showed up out there. As we wash everything down, we’re lowkey replaying the whole day… the views, the laughs, even those "why are we doing this?" climbs.

It’s a bit of work but it means one thing; we did the trail properly. Now we clean up, reset and get ready to do it all over again.
