Some three years ago, we visited this absolute gem...Muningi. Revisiting it was always in the plans but South Africa has a way of spoiling you with so much incredible beauty that there’s always another trail, another landscape and another adventure waiting to be explored. Before you know it, years have passed!

Yesterday, we finally made our way back and wow, we had almost forgotten how beautiful this place is. The scenery is breathtaking, with the landscape gradually transforming from beautiful water bodies into stunning open landscapes. Absolutely gorgeous!

We wrapped up the adventure a little differently this time; good chats, juicy burgers, live music... great company!! 🍔🎶

Yesterday, Ellen Britz and I, both South African Adventure Industry Association (SAAIA) Adventure Guide Chapter Chairpersons, joined SAAIA Executive Director Jessi for a visit to Phahama Lodge, where we had a productive meeting with Shelly-Lynne, Executive Manager, to plan and discuss our upcoming October SAAIA event.

Phahama Lodge is now officially a SAAIA member venue...something we’re excited about! What an absolute gem of a place. After our meeting, we took a tour of the property to get a better sense of how the event could be structured around the venue’s facilities and offerings. The obstacle course is incredible, the pool revamp almost complete, the dining area is stunning and the conference room is more than sufficient for what we have planned. Everything is coming together beautifully.

We’re looking forward to bringing industry leaders, professionals and aspiring adventure leaders together in this fantastic setting...showcasing the value SAAIA brings to our sector and creating opportunities to connect, collaborate and continue moving the adventure industry forward.

When the Sun Rises and Falls 🌅🌄🦌

There’s a quiet window in the bush that many of us miss.

As the sun begins to rise and again as it starts to set, many animals become more active. These periods are known as ""Crepuscular hours"; a time when the cooler temperatures and softer light create ideal conditions for movement and feeding.

It’s one of the reasons an early morning hike can feel so different. The bush is waking up. Birds are calling, animals are moving and if you slow down and pay attention, you may notice signs of life that would easily go unnoticed during the heat of the day.

And at sunset, the story changes again. The bush begins to settle, while other species become more active.

So next time you're outdoors... don't rush through those first and last hours of daylight. Sometimes the best wildlife encounters happen when the day is just beginning...or just coming to an end.

There’s something incredibly humbling about being trusted by a large corporate when you’re still a small business.

Before you ever get the opportunity to deliver, you’re assessed on everything: Your track record, compliance, safety, risk management, tax affairs and reputation. You believe in what you do but that doesn’t automatically mean others will.

That’s why hearing the words or getting an email that says: "We’ve chosen Hyqe Club", never gets old. Especially when you’re standing alongside bigger, more established organisations.

To every company that has trusted us, backed us and given us the opportunity to prove ourselves, THANK YOU. We never take that trust for granted.

As we head towards the end of another year, we’re grateful to welcome yet another major corporate partner.

Looking back on our journey and what we’ve accomplished in a relatively short time, one thing has become clear: growth isn’t always loud. It’s not about likes or popularity. It’s about consistency, staying focused on your vision and trusting your own path. Some move with speed. We’ve chosen to move with purpose and strategy.

And perhaps that’s what makes the journey worthwhile.

Nobody heads out on a hike thinking, "Today feels like a good day to get injured."😂🥾

But the trail doesn’t always get the memo.

A twisted ankle, a cut, a blister that suddenly feels like a personal attack....things happen!! That little first-aid kit in your backpack can quickly become your best friend.

And if you take any regular medication💊 , don’t leave it at home! Pack enough for the trip and let your guide know. If something goes wrong, that information could be really important.

Being prepared doesn’t make you paranoid.
It makes you a smarter adventurer.

Happy World Elephant Day! 🌍🐘💚

Few experiences leave you feeling as small and as inspired as standing in the presence of an elephant. Their sheer size commands respect.. but it's their intelligence, strong family bonds and gentle nature that leave a lasting impression.

These aren't just iconic wildlife. They are architects of the wild, creating pathways through the bush, spreading seeds across vast landscapes and helping entire ecosystems thrive.

Yet despite their strength, their future remains vulnerable.

Today's it's World Elephant Day, let's remember that protecting elephants is about more than safeguarding a single species. It's about preserving the natural world they help sustain and ensuring future generations can experience the wonder of seeing these magnificent animals where they belong... wild and free.

Let them roam. Let them live. Let them remain wild. 🐘

“Wathint’ abafazi, wathint’ imbokodo.”
You strike a woman, you strike a rock.

Today, we remember the women Earth Walkers who made their way to the Union Buildings in 1956. They came carrying a petition and something far greater: courage, dignity, resilience and a vision for a better South Africa.

More than 20,000 women stood together and made it clear that their voices could not be ignored. Their courage became part of our history and their actions continue to inspire generations of women to stand up, speak out and create change.

At Hyqe Club, we believe that every journey has a story. Today, we remember a journey that was about far more than the distance travelled. It was a journey for freedom, dignity and the generations that would follow.

May we never forget the women who took those steps.
